Neela with her Great, many times over, Grandmother. Danu's redesign has been long over due and I'm happy to finally draw her again in her deer form. Her changes where greatly inspired by a doll, that once I saw knew it must be Danu...and now the doll has had her influence on Danu in turn.Here is the beautiful doll painted by the lovely Madrugadah on Flickr who has let me adopt this charming creature: www.flickr.com/photos/madrugad…
Neela here too in her newest colors, size relations I must admit are probably not entirely accurate, Neela is probably grown a lot more then this by now, but the charms of the picture demanded a teeny fawn Neela for cuteness' sake.

The halos in Christian art, especially Byzantium era wood paintings inspire me a lot and it's just a nod of the head to the game itself, with the floating icons above the deer heads which are themselves inspired by much the same. And then of course, any excuse to get some gold in there really.
