Love him! I'm from Southeast Alaska, actually pretty close to BC, and our squirrels looked the same. Tiny...but fierce! Not like the bigger red ones in the lower 48 of the US

Aww, yes they have so much character!  Thank you

I bet it is pretty spectacular to live in Alaska.  I live on the southern coast of BC, and as much as it's beautiful and I love it - it would be great to see some snow once in a while!

I'm stuck in Idaho now But I grew up there and my family still lives in Alaska. Gorgeous!

Hooray for feisty squirrels!

Ahh cool, I drove through Northern Idaho briefly, it was quite beautiful too!  I haven't really been to Alaska, just a small town on the panhandle, but I'd love to visit properly some day

We went to Hyder, close to where you're from but right on the B.C border.  I love it up North, I wanted to stay

That's a great capture!
I like the way everything is arranged. Beautiful angle.
How close did you get?

Sidonie In reply to burningBernd [2016-10-07 17:46:23 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!  Very, very close.  I was using my regular zoom lens, not anything fancy.  He was totally not bothered by me, just kept munching his pinecones cartoon-style like corn on the cob

That's wonderful!
So maybe you look friendly and the squirrel knew you will do no harm. Or maybe he works as a photo model.
