Rodan is the last pterosaur on earth. He is, in fact, the son of the original Rodan pair that appeared in 1956. For years Rodan remained asleep within the wilds of Russia. Then in 2016, when King Ghidorah arrived, Rodan awakened and later aided Godzilla, Mothra and the other active monsters against the King of Terror. Rodan is mostly solitary by nature, but has shown to have deep respect for Godzilla. He will often come to Godzilla's aid, though will usually leave instead of staying around like Anguirus would. Still, Rodan is one of Godzilla's most trusted allies, and as the fastest flier, will watch over the world from above the clouds.

Rodan was later capture and relocated to the Monster Islands.

Combat Style: Rodan relies upon hit and run tactics, depending upon his agility to keep him from harm's way. When he has harried a foe and thinks he has gained the upper hand, Rodan will swoop in for the kill, hoping to deal the killing blow with his claws and fanged beak. Rodan is very loyal to his allies, and will fight with his every last breath and speck of strength to overcome his enemies.
