Description Pen (G-pen & maru-pen) on paper, screen tone effects done on Photoshop.

Cover art for the Sword of the Stranger doujinshi (gag parody, mostly 4-panel comics) which will hopefully be printed out and sold coming Sunday on 3rd Place, a Korean doujinshi-only event.

異刃 means Strange Sword and 別曲 is a type of tranditional poetry, though of course it doesn't have a thing to do with poems and was merely stuck there for a four-character title; and the word was also used on a few earlier doujinshis I did with my sister. BTW, Rarou is reading a Japanese textbook-the title should be on the right side of the book, but wrote it on the left for better visibility.

Actually I finished the contents (16 pages) last November but couldn't make it in time for the event so it wasn't made into a book. After that couldn't squeeze in for any other doujinshi event since it's so competitive. I did manage to put my name on the waiting list for the May event, but almost gave it up until they suddenly contacted me last week. Talk of short notices.

Naturally it's in Korean although I have been getting questions through my Japanese website on making a Japanese translation. Which I would have if my Japanese wasn't so unskilled and slow and the comics didn't have so much dialogue. How come my comics are so damn talkative?

No wonder, he's not the scholary type...but at least he can READ! Poor Nanashi is illiterate...

Haha, When I woke up and too tired to read the title clearly, I was like, "why 粪刃?" until I re-read it again… My bad. I can't believe they had to use katakana word for "strange" in the movie title.

I like how Fengwu meekly looks at Luolang and Luolang's struggling expression with studying Japanese.

But congrats for getting in the doujinshi event!

Thanks! It went quite swell, surprisingly.

As for the title, I heard somewhere it was considered kind of hip to use English on a historical Japanese movie title-makes it more appealing to young audiences or something. Actually, even the katakana for "Stranger" is pretty wierd too because normally it should be written ストレンジャー but instead written ストレンヂア. Suppose they were going for something "authentic?"

Haha, yeah, I tried to express Fuugo's unrequited affections for Rarou while Rarou is only interested in (fighting) Nanashi, therefore the Japanese studying. When Rarou is scolded by his superior Fuugo's the only one worrying for him...although even Rarou himself doesn't mind it at all, lol.

Hmm, perhaps I should try to print an English version? It's easier for me than Japanese.
But on the other hand SotS is too obscure...

I think English would be better !! At least for those who don't know Japanese and Korean ^^"...but to know if you have print an English version then it's time for me to dream that i can come to Korea xD.
Too obscure?! I thought it easy for me to understand more than the other movie i ever saw !!

I don't know, I mean the international mailing fee would be more expensive than the book itself...and it will probably sell less than five copies, lol. But I'll think about it.

By obscure I meant SotS is quite little-known, not that it's difficult to understand. It's sometimes puzzling since anybody I've coerced or tricked into watching it loved it, otaku or not, so it is a movie with quite a lot of potential mass appeal. Personally I think it was a type of movie that was difficult to sell, possibly due to the lack of moe bishoujo characters which seem like necessities these days. (of course I moe after Nanashi, but in the general sense more younger, feminine characters are easier to sell) Which again brings back to the point that the original being too obscure, I'm not too sure about the doujinshi either. Although I WILL consider it...andcall me if you're actually coming to Korea someday!

Actually i don't know if i can buy it by shipping fee or something because i'm not understand much about it! But i believe out there has many SoTS's fans ! Maybe if the event that you about to enter has the foreigners, you can sell some neh... nowadays, not much great doujs (exept for the doujs of those series that are too popular like Naruto,etc)... i mean, they usually not in English !

About the obscure, i understand what you say (sign), but as i can see already that anyone who ever saw this movie, they say that they would definitely buy it as the DVD even they already saw it on the internet many times, of course i'm the one, too. And what about those moe, bishoujo stuffs, most of them can't be like that, right?! In conclusion, that is what i proud of SoTS and i proud of being of a SoTS's fan !
If i can come to Korea someday, i will contact you.
