Description A PSD template for a standard US comic page, including bleeds, margins and safe guides, as well as halves, fourths, and thirds, in both vertical and horizontal quantities, as well as comprehensively. All guides are contained in a single guide folder, with sub-folders based on the their appropriate uses. All these guides can be toggled to your specific need, and some like the bleed guide have alternate versions depending on your preference.

This file is in standard US comic page size, including the bleed. The area inside the bleed is what the page size will be once trimmed. It is in 600 dpi. That is double print resolution, and more than acceptable as a working file, since you want to work in at least 150% image size, and this gives you 200% working image size so you can get in the details without being so large it becomes unwieldy. I also have this same file in 300dpi and 150dpi if you need it. Also for anyone who wants to work with manga style, this template can work for that as well. The length to width ratio for a standard manga page is the same, it's just usually done at a different size. However, this template should still be good if you want to use it for manga instead.

This file is free for anyone to download and use for any projects they have. The goal is to provide a well done template for making comics digitally to aid people looking to get into that. As well, if you have any questions or suggestions or even corrections to what I've provided, please feel free to comment. This is intended as an aid to the community to help further creativity. As such I am more than willing to offer any other kind of help if you find the need for it.

And while not necessarily a requirement (it is completely free without any restrictions) if anyone chooses to use this template, it would be kind of cool to see what you end up making.

Excellent resource. It's so hard to find proper standard US templates with guides. No one seems to be able to agree on the dimensions. Not only is this template the right dimensions, it even has the guides and extras in separate layers in PhotoShop. Absolutely brilliant. We're a new comic company and will be using this template for our comics. We'll let you know when we start publishing so you can see what we've done with your template.

Thanks!

Awesome, I put a lot of time into it, and thought it would be selfish to keep to myself, considering that I looked and looked and nothing like this exists as a resource, and it took forever to wade through all the information and calculate all the values.

I really think that having this available to everyone will really help people who have ideas, get to making them faster. So definitely use it and share it to anyone you think might want to use this resource. I spent a lot of time making the PSD clean and there are variations of the guides in there.

Also, if for some reason you need it in a different size, different DPI, I can do that. I maxed it at 600 dpi, at 2 times print ratio, since usually comic work is done at 1.5 times size, but I can always remake the same document at larger DPI's as well, since all the guides are vector files and easily scaled up if I need. So if you do need a larger DPI, let me know and I can make it.
