Yep there are plenty, they're just much less common than bipeds.

It's a shame battletech and mechwarrior series aren't as popular as halo and Star Wars. I do love the universe even though I can't remember of much of it after stop reading the books. I don't think lawsuit from robotics helped as they we're copying designs which I think really hurt the series. Would love if they did a other game/book series that took place centuries after the dark ages with bit more advances since then and even new territories after rediscover of terraforming technology and perhaps few other technology. I think they inverse does have chancebe on par with Star Wars and halo.
Think other than battletech, mechwarrior, and mechassault I would welcome a game involving infantry and aerospace pilot since we do t see them too much.

There was the combined arms game MechWarrior Living Legends with tanks, aero, and infantry. But it's getting old now and definitely looking aged compared to MWO and the upcoming MW5.
Battletech, by the nature of its rules, will always be a niche game, but a niche game that will be unlikely to die.

You gotta wonder what that Thunder Fox is packing though. It's a truly beautiful machine, but doesn't look to be utilizing any of the basic variants. Maybe a pair of ER Mediums and a Autocannon of some kind for the loadout?

Ahhh, paired Snub-nose peeps and an LB-X/10. Very nice, if not a little reliant on getting close to do maximum damage with those PPCs. Shame that PGI probably won't add the Thunder Fox to MWO though. That'd be a bucket of fun!

So, the mechs in BattleMech are also called "jaegers"?

Nah, that's just the name of their military unit, the Lyran Alliance Jaegers.

No, the are called BattleMechs. This title is just about something else. All a coincidence with PR.

I thought madcats (timberwolf) were 75 tons Heavy mechs...did they lowered the tonnage for the mad cat III?

There are 3 different mad cat sizes. The 1 and 4 are heavy, 2 is assault, 3 is medium.

Loving the cockpit detail on the Mad Cat. I've seen a few Mech renders which have the pilot's head & shoulders right up in the bow of the cockpit... forgetting the little problem of where the poor guy's legs are meant to go!
The other aspect I really like here is the different types of battle damage the two Mechs are showing. The cannon-shell craters contrast with the smashed forearm pod on the Mad Cat...

I like to let everyone view my work without big watermarks on it, but if I upload a high res that's clean they're more likely to be misused.

other excelent mech art: I really like the use of geometrical paint, as it made me remember the "cammouflage" of ships used back in time!
