Today is my father-in-law's birthday. If you read my latest journal, you're aware that Molly's life was cut short last Wednesday when she was hit by a car and had to be put down. She was my FIL's hunting buddy and best friend and truly loved by the whole family. I wanted to do something special for him for his birthday because I just felt awful about what happened, so I decided to draw him a picture of Molly to honor her. My husband picked out the frame.
She truly was one of the greatest dogs and it's such a shame her life ended so soon. But she lived a very happy, fulfilling life and was such a joy while we had her!
Rest in peace Molly Hatchet! (Her nickname) We love and miss you! Chase some ducks up in heaven for us!

That is a wonderful tribute and very well done. I find it harder to work on something when hurt by lost, but you did an amazing job at this portrait of her.

Thank you very much - I find that drawing helps me feel better when I'm sad or upset, so doing stuff like this is pretty normal for me. XD I bet she's having the time of her life in heaven hahah.
