This is perfection. The scenery is beautifully detailed, I love how the light is reflected in the water and the sky getting darker as the sun sets behind the mountains. Even without Twilight this picture would still be outstanding. I feel calm just looking at this artwork, that's probably what makes it so great.

I have to ask, what painters and or artist have been the biggest influence on your style?

Shamanguli In reply to bruiser128 [2016-07-28 19:40:55 +0000 UTC]
That is actually a very tough question. I've probably been influenced by the styles of tens of artists, most of which I probably coulnd't even name. I'd like to believe, however, that my style has been influenced the most by the works of AlbertΒ Bierstadt, who is an American artist from the 19th century and the works of 'Huussii' and 'aJVL' who can be found here on deviantart.

Yeah I can definitely see how Bierstadt sense of vastness and
grandeur in nature translated into your own works.

Never gets old.
Lovely taiga-meets-tundra-ish landscape, too, particularly with this lighting. You keep getting better at these, and having ponies in them helps them be even better. And I love the proportion relationship between Twi and the landscape scale. Neither of them end up overshadowing the other completely.

Twilight at twilight, hehehe.
Seriously speaking, this is a nice piece. As usual, you do a magnificent job with the blending of colors, such as with the clouds in the background and having Twilight stick out enough to make her stand out but not so much that she becomes an eyesore against everything else. Bravo!

I just... thank you, for these. For these gorgeous paintings, these stunning scenes that, especially coupled with your choice in accompanying music, can just take people into another world. I could spend hours here just taking in all the fine details: how the glow of the sun off the clouds just feels warmer, how every blade of grass meshes with the field in such a natural manner, how the mountains in the distance make the lake feel enormous, despite only showing a glimpse of the water through the trees...
I can only imagine how long it has taken you to develop the skills you show here and in every one of your paintings. But you have developed a certain gift. These are magnificent, awe-inspiring. Every time I see a new painting from you, I know it will be amazing, and will brighten my day.
And so again I thank you. Thank you for sharing these amazing pieces with the rest of us. Keep up the fantastic work.

Again, you've done a lovely job bringing such an open and wonderful scene to glorious life. Twilight looks so happy and appreciative as she stops to take in a deep breath of the pre-dawn air on those beautiful surroundings. What's better than a joyful pony in the perfect natural setting. The foreground grasses and trees are fantastic, well done textures and colors of early spring, and the lake itself is stunningly gorgeous. You have a way with bodies of water like no other. Then the mountains in the vast distance look magnificent, so grand and imposing. Lovely work on the pre-day sky too, with the licks of sunlight on those high clouds as the night is ushered away to make room for the sun. Fantastic work.
Β
P.S. Very beautiful, peaceful musical choice today. Thanks for that too.

Well, it's not a full 1080. The download button shows 2360 x 1000. I'm going to be upgrading to a couple of 2k monitors soon (2560 x 1440), so as large as you can make it would be fantastic. The higher the better.Β

Aaah,Β Wrath Of The Lich King, I played its storyline :D Although that was veeeery long ago.
I love Twilight just being happy in such a beautiful setting <3 Just like I would be too, making one with Nature... and reflecting on dear memories of playing my favorite games perhaps ;)
