This creature is based on the prehistoric fish Dunkleosteus, a super rad creature you should check out. It had an immensely strong bite and bony plates covering its body. And it was huge. This fakemon has steel plates that are covered in a rusty coloured substance - be it actual rust that forms in places where the armor is worn out or rust-coloured algae. They are carnivorous but tend to flock around shipwrecks for an easy source of metal.
It was super cool to do an illustration like this! A badass creature in its natural environment. Had a blast! Also we totally need more new fossil Pokémon and a Dunkleosteus one would be a great stary.

Awesome! I always had a weird thing for the Dunkleosteus fish ever since i was into paleontology as a kid when they showed all them fossils of prehistoric creatures, these look soooo cool! (in fact i think two of the four new fossil pokemon in Sword and Shield are based on Dunkleosteus)

I read up the reason why they have the mixed up fossil fusions was cause in the UK when they just started researching paleontology on dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, they just stuck the fossils wherever they thought would go, ultimately ending in results such as, putting the head and tail in the opposite ends, and just mishmashing incorrect species' fossils together into whatever they thought would be the correct result, anyway i think i talked a little too in depth there apologies i get myself carried away with that XD but sure, you should draw up Dracovish or Arctovish whenever you wanna!

I love it, it’s so real. And so deadly. First off the pose is just right your making the Dunkleosteus (gonna call it Dunky for short) have such a dynamic and apex predator pose. This not only instills great fear, but also shows all of The Dunky’s features. Second the detail on the armor where it shows like it was made from a battle worn haul of a warship helps make it a veteran war machine. The background of it’s natural habitat of a sunken iron ship clearly explains what this beast is, and the FACE it looks like it’s made of nightmares and i love it. You made my day, give yourself a pat on the back

Dunkleosteus one of the first bony fish And the a top predator of the late Devonian period really nice job on this one it's cool certainly one of my favorite prehistoric fish.
