I decided to do another piece in a similar style as my Sharpie Phoenix. Because I hadn't used my markers in quite a while.I did this in one sitting, so I should probably go outside to get me some fresh air now... WHOOOOH Sharpie fumes!

Well I already did a rough sketch with pencil so it was just a matter of going over the outlines and putting in some feather detail.
With separate strokes like that it's pretty easy to cover up ones in colors which didn't work with other ones.

I did do the phoenix in the same style before this one so I did kind of know what I was going for yeah.
Sometimes you just end up with happy accidents too though. I'm sure I threw out a whole stack of other things which turned out badly before this one happened so yeah, you just keep practicing and keep going at it.

They do smell but its more of an alcohol smell. They're also notoriously hard to use

ooh, that does sound a bit tricky.
I know sharpies tend to bleed through the paper pretty easily which is also a bit annoying.
Wonder if there's a place that sells single copic markers or small sets so I can give them a go without spending too much on them right away.

I dunno if you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, but ours has the copics for sale individually. They're about 6 bux each though >_>

Hmmm, none of those around here but we do have Michaels, which is something similar. I'll look for them there the next time I drop by the place again, though yeah $6 each is a lot

duuuude thats AMAZING detail!! and the colors are brilliant, they work so well together. the pose is awesome too, with the effect of slightly descending in flight. I really like this piece, the feathers are eye catching!

I was hoping it was worth it lol, near the end of it I was getting so dizzy and weird from the sharpie fumes that I was starting to make all sorts of mistakes hahah, using the wrong colored markers in the wrong areas and such. I probably should've taken a few breaks in between

No it's a letter sheet which is a tad smaller than A4. (216x279mm I believe)
But ya it was done on printer paper.
