Contest Entry for *AtrociYou can find it here:
Draw my character, win up to $175! (Extended)Update, May 21st, 2013: Deadline has received a final extension (requested) to the 15th of June.
New character "Boomer" also added.
The idea of this contest is simple. Draw my characters.
DEADLINE IS JUNE 15th, 5:00:00 PM EST.
My policies, tips, and rules:
Every single rule here is important as hell, please read.
You can place more than once.
No date is too late to join.
If there are less than 30 entries when the deadline comes around, I will extend the deadline.
You may enter unlimited times.
You may have any amount of characters in one image.
You may have your own characters in the image with mine.
Drawing a full-blown image is not mandatory, do what you want!
Gore, violence, NSFW images and everything else is just fine!
Note me your entries, I will not save it otherwise.
More characters may be added to the list down the road.

Whe I first saw the contest I didnt know if I might enter or not because.. well.. nasty art block.
I made a few sketches because there are so many awesome characters and I wanted to get the best result... kinda xD
Then I sketched Raja and well... I liked it enough to make a more clean sketch and soon the lineart.
The colors were... well I had trouble getting the colors right, since I didnt have the right copics at hand to there are basically a hell lof of colors mixed into his fur and a few shadings with polychromos.
I like the result.
and I hated it when I started the coloring and now. MEH.
Idk.

So Raja is the spirit of a forest and was kind of 'reborn' after the forest got burned down to rebuild it to it's former beauty.
I imagined him after the flames subsided and the forest was left silent and bleak to arise from the ashes [with whirly green lights of course] to fulfill his duties as the forest's spirit.
*huffs* I like imagininf stories and everything behind that and I hope it's okay I constructed this scene in my head.
Anyway. I hope you like it!

I dont think that I've read anything alike, I wouldnt have entered the contest with a traditional piece if something like that would have been in the rules
it also sounds kind of unfair to me.. just because it's traditional it has to be send to you? digital artists would have opportunity to print theirs multiple times for themselves without having anything close to an original like that other than that on their computer. do you expect them to send or delete that data from their computer as well?

That was over 24 hours again, holy shit let's stir the pot some more because we have nothing better to do.
It is not the same. She said, "do you ask digital artists to delete every copy of there work," or something. How is that equal to her giving me the original so I can hang up a picture of my character? She would still have a digital copy, I wouldn't think a picture of MY character would matter so much. So no, it is not the same, because she'd still have a copy, I am not asking her to delete every other copy once I get the traditional picture.
Second, discriminate against traditional works how? That was just you barking nonsense because that's irrelevant, if I was discriminating I don't think it would have won the contest, uh-derp.

In this case time is completely irrelevant, I could have seen this a month or a year later and could still comment on it, simply because of your warped attitute towards traditional made first-placed entries.

No, you haven't pointed that out, you just wrote that it has been only 24 hours ago since you have shown your weird view of how to deal with traditional works who made the first place.
You seem to think that this has been a valid argument but I have to dissapoint you. You could just as well go to someone on a rainy day and tell them: "It rains".
I wanted to inform you about the fact that you have demanded something unfair from a traditional artist (no matter if you have shrugged it off, you did that because of the wrong reasons).
You can not deal with critique, you aren't able to give any good argument, instead you jump at the language issues of someone and start to goof them off. I apologize, that I just could not resist to do the last one as well.

You're talking too much and I care too little (hence why I didn't even argue with the artist, I just said I'd shrug it off) to continue this. Every time I slam one of your arguments into the ground you just ignore it and go on about something else, you get off to this, I can tell.
What's also funny, is that to start? I didn't allow traditional entries or any kind or sculpture, I decided to allow it and lo and behold the winner ended up being traditional. So how about you just be happy for her and kindly shut your noise hole, rather than coming in here to stir up old shit to try and make a point to me (good luck with that), while also adding a nice ugly wall of spam in her beautiful picture's comment section.

If you are referring to "we can discuss reissuing first place," that was towards the arguing, or if she didn't want to be a part of it for having offended her. I did not at all say, "give me the original or I'll give first place to someone else," so I'm sorry you're very quick to assume.

ja es ist hauptsächlich mit copic markern entstanden, der hintergrund nur daraus und Raja wurde dann noch mit Polychromos schattiert und details wurden gesetzt ^^

Nicely done picture. Great colors. For a second I felt a little inspiration impulse. At that very moment I wanted to draw something similar, something great, but it left me too quickly (curse you! my horrible personality). Usually I don't like creatures with antlers but this was too good to left it without any notice. Soo majestic. Also I really like that magic spreading efect behind ...um... Raja. And those arrows stucking from the back simply cool. Ah yes the tail: the black color slowly changing into red and afterward into white absolutly amazing. It's like blood staining snow. Or wine. A tasty sweet red wine. Mmmmm. You choose. Incredible. This is too much for me. I could write more about your masterpiece but my lazy-bad personality forbids me to do so. Besides this comment is starting to be too long and maybe annoying. So I will say it simply this time. It's great and I like it.
