Description Lost in thought - we all escape to our inner selves on occasion...for some of us not enough - for others maybe too often.

First time I've used water based ink...I like it. Much easier to clean and it seemed to transfer with a little less rubbing with the spoon. This is a photo - I will scan the print when its dry.

I love this image. Could I use it in my blog? I would of course give you credit and I could post a link from my site to yours.

Thanks for the kind words. I use Speedball's water based ink - it works best for small prints because it drys fast. I prefer oil based ink because I think it gives a deeper hue.

I really love this! Wow . You are getting so good at it! I use water-based for lino and think the water-based ink is sticky. . . maybe that can be a good thing. I can't imagine having to use something besides water for clean-up, though.

That painting idea is a good one . . .thanx!

and I'm tryin' *eustonr 's trick too!!

Your work on this is extraordinary. How do you make this from a photo?

Some are based on pictures I combine or manipulate on the computer...others are drawings directly on the wood (after some rough sketches)...I do spray paint the wood block with black paint prior to getting started - really help s me see the image come alive.

Really nice.

At first I wasn't so sure about the 2 different types of shading you've used, but it does suit the image. Nicely done.

I switched over to water based inks about a year ago - simply because they are easy to clean up. They do behave differently though. I do like oil based inks better, but then, I hate the cleanup....

One trick - I dampen the paper with water first. Soak it then dry the paper on a towel so its damp but touch dry. Then print. (I use my thumb for the rubbing bit). You may do this already, but just in case.... I found the water based inks frustrating until I learnt this little trick!

Thanks for the advice - no I didn't try that - but will on the next set of prints. I really appreciate the feedback and comments...I have been experimenting with differant cuts to see what does what...most of the time they work - but sometimes...not so much.
