Your portraits are great! I really like your style and use of working on colored surfaces. I also like working in color pencil and was wondering if you could tell me how many pencils you use for skin tone? I can usually draw a pretty good portrait but the coloring always gets muddy. I think I try to use too much. Any help would be awesome!

Thanks!
I posted about my color palette for portraits and what I use each color for here: [link]
Though I think you'll find I use a LOT of colors, too. The trick is in the technique and the surface. I draw on pastelbord which has a nice gritty texture that allows a lot of layers. I also draw in small, loose circles, letting colors layer and fill in each other gaps. It can get muddy and saturated after a while if you aren't careful but not nearly as quickly as a smooth surface like Bristol would.
Hope that helps - I dig your work!
