UPDATE: 12/07/17After sketching this woman down a few times I just got frustrated at her legs which looked too long for digitigrade-type feet, so after visiting the Calgary stampede and seeing the many horses run around trying to buck some idiot off its back I got inspired to re-do this species with undulate anatomy and I'm so happy with the results. Plus it makes them much different from their northern cousins by looking less dragon-like and more reptile-equine.

If the southern razorwings are Oura, what are the northern ones called?
Alsooo the propatagium seems a bit torn on the fullbody, with no scales covering it, yet on the dorsal view it covers the propatagium x_x Which is correct?

Haha XD they looked kinda silly to me x-x Northern razorwings are just 'Razorwings' because the humans named them first and did not know of any second species, so when they found the Southern ones they named them seperately 'Ouraornis' meaning bird-tailed, but it got shortened to oura later in history (sounds like aura). And yea XD I noticed the mistake yesterday, I'll change it tonight

I really dig how you've implemented the knuckle walking here c: Is she always walking in a way that makes the lower part of the palm touch the ground or does she go full primate sometime and walk in a digitigrade fashion just with her fingers curled into the knuckle walking position?
And again I love what you did with the wings. And man the consistency in design of the tail in the sideview aswell. Marvelous c:
Only thing that disturbs the whole image a bit is the closeup of the eye. It seems a bit comic-ish and doesn't match the rest of the ref when it comes to level of detail. That makes the image look a bit detached. As if it was slapped in last second.Β
Oh btw I love the font you chose for her name. I also love the shape the compact body and her wings create in the top view of the wings.

Thanks c: I know but the reference itsself is very rushed and pathetic, I always hurry them and splat out some scrappy shit because I'm too paranoid about my designs not being uploaded soon, but perhaps I'll go back and redo the drawing. She actually walks on the upper side of her phalanges, not the knuckles ^^ primates also do not walk on their knuckles, its just a common misconception

There may be less scales on this species, but that's still one beautifully detailed and complex design. She does look amazing though, I love her colours (they make me think of ice cream for some reason). I'm digging that hand/fore-foot concept, it makes a lot of sense.

Thank you c: I wanted them to be different enough, but still have the basic resemblences to a razorwing. And yea the idea with the hands has been with me for ages, I always wanted best of both worlds, running on all fours and sensitive hands XD
