Relationships
Romantic
IrisDesert 's Viper: (His mate) Their relationship is fraught with dysfunction, but when it's good it's good. Aside from some very different takes on specific world views, Moray and Viper compliment one another splendidly. They're playful, aggressive, and adventurous and take good care of one another.

Humans
April: Deceased. Purchased from retailer. April was Moray’s first human and a red-tag at that. Initially anxious, fearful, and neurotic, as she settled in she became gentle and loyal, though remained fiercely dependent. It was Moray’s work with April that got him notoriety. When she passed, it was from old-age. Moray renamed his facility after her.
Autumn: Acquired as an owner surrender. Autumn is outspoken, scrappy, and willful red-tag. Moray took charge of Autumn when she was 17. Now 22 years old, the two have a great and caring relationship. She is often sarcastic and playful and knows she can get away with much more at home than she can off the premises.

Friends
KeptinKeem 's Squash: At present he is Moray’s running partner and closest friend. Squash is also one of Moray’s oldest friends, knowing the big orange guy since he was born. They became better acquainted with one another during Moray’s ranch-hand days. Squash has kept tabs on Moray throughout his life and was a major point of encouragement in the leaving of his human-pet trade job to pursue his current occupation. Some of Squash’s habits annoy him greatly, but he’s more than willing to tolerate them. Moray hopes to use his rising position to recommend Squash for internship in a relevant field.
micro-monster 's Mana: These two have a close working relationship. Mana, who runs a human shelter, often consults with Moray regarding the red-tags within the shelter. Moray does group training/development exercises, temperament tests, and evaluations on site, and fosters individuals for one-on-one training (when he has room). In turn, Mana offers sanctuary to any humans that Moray encounters that are found/given up for whatever reason. Their businesses are affiliated and their common goals have made them good friends. They often hold fundraisers to the benefit of Mana's shelter.
Wolfchick36 's Glacier: Moray met the pet shop's owner during his human distribution days. He was a kind face during a rough time. They don't see much of one another anymore, save for events and the occasional luncheon.

Adversaries
IrisDesert 's Viper: (In the past) Strangely alike, but in opposing ways; Moray and Viper both want to make the world a little safer. It's the execution that has them butting heads. Moray is a human advocate, while Viper despises the aliens. Viper's line of work brought her into Moray's life as his reputation was spreading, back when he had April. Viper made herself clear what would happen if any of his charges stepped out of line. Though wary, they seem to hold one another in high respects.

History
Moray was born in Tratool as the single son of two produce farmers. His family life was average and busy, and he grew up with an appreciation for physical labor and eating right. They owned a modest plot of land, and grew things to fill the demands of the season; a meager amount of their produce went to the café that operated at the front edge of their property, closest to the streets that typical civilians and tourists frequented. They also hosted a u-pick operation seasonally as an attraction for visitors, and to turn an extra profit. His relationship with his parents was a close one and still is.
Moray’s youth wasn’t remotely troubled. His only hindrance growing up was himself; he flunked out of school. Not necessarily unintelligent, but poor with book-work, he failed to complete Level 6 of his education in time. His parents didn’t fault him for it, but the taste of failure as all of his peers moved on (and on with their lives) made him bitter and lonely. As it had become clear that his schooling would not be completed, he was sent to live with his uncle, during which he refined his discipline and skill set. He went on to acquire a worker’s permit, then worked as a ranch-hand in his community for a number of years.
Now, throughout his childhood, Moray had always been surrounded by humans, most of whom were workers. His own family had a pet human when he was very young, and he only had fond memories of her. His ranch-hand days put him into frequent contact with human helpers of all sorts, and their personalities, antics, and high intelligence perpetuated that fondness just as their short life-spans broke his heart. Moray was in this line of work through his late 600s.
Unsatisfied, he applied for human-trapping positions with a few pet-trade firms. After about 5 years of reapplying, he was eventually accepted by a large trading company based out of Drovill, to which he moved after he purchased a modest property with his savings. His job consisted mostly of enforcing the safety of the slaver crews and prepping holding areas for occupation. Tired of cycling to and from Earth, he became a senior member in the ground transport team, shipping cargo to various pet stores.
Naturally, Moray’s job put him into close contact with both red and green labels of human slaves. Now almost 2000, he had became rather intimate with the chipping process that identified a human as a red rather than the well-behaved greens (though he was never made to do it), and in turn had begun to see issues with what qualified as red behavior.
Overtime, his feelings bested him, and he found himself purchasing his first human, a red-chipped girl named April. She was fearful and neurotic. Moray believed the key to rehabilitating most reds was by providing structure and psychological comfort. The demands of testing his various “theories” overtook his desire to work for the slaver company, and after a discrepancy over opinions with his managers, both parties agreed to part ways. At this point he had saved up a great deal of money due to his minimalistic life-style, and was now able to devote full-time to his pet.
When April’s temperament began to not only even-out, but shine more than many greens he had handled, Moray knew he had found his passion. April became something of an “ambassadorial” red for Moray’s rehabilitation and obedience practice. She passed away due to old age and a grieving Moray renamed his practice after her.
Eventually, he obtained another human, another girl, named Autumn. This one was relinquished by an owner that could no longer handle her. Autumn was not fearful, but bold and willful; traits that complemented the cynical, rough-around-the-edges Koltherian. She is still difficult, but mostly in a playful manner with Moray.
Reputation
In Drovill, Moray is often met with suspicion and unease both at his apparent attitude and because he generally has a red-chipped human (or two, if he’s fostering for a client) following him around. Those aware of his work and advocacy efforts highly respect him, however, and he is often invited to events hosted by the Interspecies Relations Laboratories, usually to speak. Back in Tratool, he is regarded as a hard-worker from a friendly, hard-working family who in spite of his lack of a full education (they still tease him about it) made something of himself.
