It's her crystal doublesabre, if you look on Shoxxe's site you can see what it looks like ("You Missed"). It's pretty much a doublecannon from Phantasy Star Online.
The blades can cut and thrust, but she can also use the crystal blades and the smaller 'satellite' shards as focusing points through which she channels magic energy in order to fire energy blasts. In this pic she is charging up a blast from the main blade while simultaneously channelling energy through the satellite shards.

Yes and no. When they are in position, they're fixed in place and don't spiral. Deechan would use the main blades for melee attacks and the satellite shards don't do anything.
When she aims one of the main blades and generates an energy blast, the satellite shards will spiral around the main blades and help to enhance the power and frequency of the blast. So the energy blasts from the main blades are created faster and hit much harder. This is used primarily to destroy hard targets and mecha.
However as you can see in this colored pic, they can also detach and fly around independently, shooting their own beams. This is used to spread out the firepower and to hit multiple targets (ie. shooting down missiles). The main blades can still be used for blasts, but they take a little longer to charge up and fire.

Yes. The auto-targeting and firing of the satellite shards is mostly controlled by the weapon (which is, itself, 'alive' and semi-sentient) and it takes direction from Deechan's thoughts. She doesn't have to tell the weapon to shoot down missiles, for example; she only has to see them and the shards will fire at said missiles instantaneously. It goes right down to an instinctual knee-jerk reaction.
Interestingly, the crystal weapon itself starts off in a base, unbonded state. It bonds itself to the user until it is literally a part of themselves, and takes a form that most closely matches the user's preferences. Deechan's weapon takes this form because she values precision and finesse. She has the doublesabre, which requires great skill to wield without stabbing yourself in the face with it. Sandra's weapon takes the form of a hammer (and 3 satellite shards) because she's all about bashing stuff in the face with the business end of her weapon. All of these crystal weapons are equal in power, it's a matter of how the user applies them...

I like detail. I have even more of that for the equipment and armor that Deechan and Sandra are using.
Talking/thinking about these things keep my mind occupied, and also help to flesh out the world that Shards characters live in.

It's her lance-type weapon that she always uses, but I'm guessing it has other functions. This time is like a laser cannon-type weapon that she's charging in a spiral-type motion.
