Description
A commission piece done for a wedding invitation. They were looking for a Gorey-ish type of drawing style. I added a bit of myself on there too!Graphite on tan paper. 10x8 inches.

I really really love your style of drawing! It actually makes me rather speechless... It somehow reminds me of Brett Helquist's work... Really really love it; I know everyone says it, but it really touched me...

I am familiar with Helquist's artwork (discovered him while working in a school library) but I have not looked at it for a long time. I think I will do that today.

I've been ordering a bunch of Gorey's books off of Ebay for the past few months. They're so tiny and cute! It's a pity that such interesting children's books aren't usually published widely nowadays.

Maybe they should stop calling them children's books. I have seen many that are not only for children. Picture books- I still enjoy them, read them, and want to make them.
