I don't dare to call this a tutorial, it's more like an explanation about my way to draw hands. I hope someone finds it helpful. I reached this way of drawing hands by looking several tutorials on DA and other pages.

In the center of the drawing there is an open hand. You can see that the middle finger is the longest, and the four "upper" fingers do not start at the same height than the thumb (the fat one). I've also drawn some lines in the palm of the hands, but these are always optional, so if you are not comfortable drawing them you don't have to. The same goes for fingernails. I "can" draw them but I don't really like to put them in every drawing I do.

In the left there is a hand in a glove. at each part of the fingers I put lines that represent where do they bend when the hand closes. They are not straight lines, they are curved ones.

Finally, in the right there's this strange brick with circles and sticks in it. What's this? This is a conceptual hand. It's easier to draw a cube than a hand, so when you plan the pose of your characters, this helps to improve the perspective of the hand. The circles are bones that give form to the hand. There's one close to the pinky (the littlest finger). This one cannot be moved and it's always straight.
The other one, (closer to a circunference) is the base that holds the thumb, and CAN be moved. It's the bone that let us pick up things with the hand. Knowing where it is helps to place the thumb correctly so it's important.
There is a line below the base of the other 4 fingers. This section of the hand is also mobile, and helps the fingers to bend inside the hand and alows us to close the hand into a fist.

I've got nothing else to say besides this: Practice makes perfect. Keep trying and you will eventually draw better, whatever it is you are trying to draw.
