Description Done on April 5 with charcoal. It was on pretty big paper, around 70x90 or 80x100 or something. This is one of my favourite drawings this year. The model was a cool girl named Anna, who listened to my iPod for the latter half of this session as the batteries on her own discman ran out.

Ummm, don't think I have much else to say.

The foreshortening on this piece is very well done. It's always a challenge to not stretch the body out. It's always a blessing to have a good model.

really nice picture indeed, but in your place I would have drawn her legs with less contrast to make the impresion of perspective stronger

Thank you! I got lucky with the composition - I just placed the figure in the centre of the sheet and somehow it all worked out.

No, no. Not luck at all. What makes this piece so attractive is the way you sculpted the bed and bedding materials around her body, following her curves especially around the hip/rump area. You did her body very well, but what makes this piece so alluring is you composition of her and the background materials.

Impressive. I can never get charcoal to cooperate with me long enough to make anything. Props!!

Oh, I adore charcoal. I really struggled when I first got to this school and it was pretty much the sole material we used, but over the years I've come to love the material. And thanks!
