View the links to see what I'm talking about!This is cut from the original Gargoyles comic book series by Greg Wiseman, but the reason why I copyright infringed all over it, was because the characters were so terribly off-model on the original that it turned this intentionally tender moment into a goofy mess. Goliath's head was too big in some frames and in that second to bottom one, his face was so silly looking that everyone who saw it went, "Derr hurr hurr!" Elisa was alright with her expressions and anatomy, but she didn't really look like Elisa. I really liked the original background, so I quickly traced over bits to ground the characters, but I didn't want to change anything there.
My version isn't perfect either but I drew it to the best of my current ability.

This redraw is spectacular! I kinda took me out of the moment when I read the original, because the art was... not good. Yours however, is top notch!

Disney's GARGOYLES series was still my favorite TV show when I was a kid. And I still enjoyed that series.
And Goliath and Elisa Maza are still my favorite couple.

If there's only someone amongst the Movie Directors planning to bring GARGOYLES to life as either a live-action or a animated series remake, it would be wonderful to watch it and enjoy it.

based on what I've seen of the styling of the first 6 issues I got and other images I've seen on the internet, I Most Certainly AGREE!
the only images of the comics that Stay withing the style design of the show are the Covers, and I'd even say the 5th issue "Bash"
So I say you did some good Justice here!

Definitely an improvement: in the original Goliath has the expression of a chipmunk who just found a motherload of nuts and can't wait to stuff them all in its greedy cheeks (no innuendo intended).

This is so much better! Any chance you feel like redrawing the whole thing? Lol. You could probably sell copies to all the fans who were disappointed with the art in (most of) the issues!

I would totally do it if they were willing to pay me. Redrawing just one page is a lot of work.
What amazes me is that they paid someone to make it and then the characters were practically butchered. Maybe they were more experienced with backgrounds.

....You know, it's kindda sad that your work is better than the artist who was actually paid to draw the comic.

That's how I felt about it. I would expect someone they've paid to draw their comic make the characters at least atomically correct. I seriously don't understand how some people get paid to make work that has real issues when there are others, like myself, who would love to get paid and do it the right way.

and i have to say that your version looks so much besser than the original. you have done great work. *thumb up*
I love that couple.
it's a pity that in the rest of the series they hardly act like a pair that loves each other. Apart from little traces of romantic like a hug or sth there is nothing that points to their relationship of love . A scene like that one in the picture i have truly missed to see in the series.

That's why we don't talk about the Goliath Chronicles. Its non canon anyways so just stick with the two comics afterwards.

Though I will say that the back-view of Elisa in the last panel is a little "Baby got back!"
also I didn't remember the size difference being THAT expreme!

I love the changes you did here, they look much closer to the original the comic used to irk me that way how Elisa wouldn't look right or Goliath's head looking huge. I've loved this series since it first came out and I must say you've captured their looks much better than the comic did, it makes this scene far more enjoyable.

Another reason the comic art was so poop was because they never inked it most of it, they just colored over the pencils, and really bad copy and paste crowds and Photoshop effects, among other things.

OH my heavens you did this so well!!!! The comic book anatomy was just painful at times, but you made this scene look like it came straight out of a TV episode! I need these skills. I must feast upon your hands (that IS how skills are acquired, right? ) LOL Anyway, great work with this! Seeing new Gargoyles art is always so exciting

Thanks! I'm a recent fan since March. I was worried that my fanart would be a little too late since this show is nearly 20 years old.
The skill I have does come quite in handy for clean up work, but not many studios want copycats.

I'm a relatively new fan as well, but I've found that the fandom is (much to my delight) surprisingly active after all these years 
I'm sure that if you apply that skill in other areas, you will yield amazing results!

I never woulda thought they actually made a relationship out of these two characters, but I've only seen a couple eps of this show. I do say your style is better than those links... At times, even the show's anatomy was pretty hard to look at.

Yeah, my friend and I have been watching the episodes on a different website and we've been laughing at the silly animation accidents. The Gargoyles tend to lose their eyes a lot.
When you watch the series, they make it blatantly obvious Elisa and Goliath have a thing in the first couple episodes. They barely know each other and yet they exchange awkward smiles as if they were crushing pretty hard. After a while you get the feeling they are already in a relationship, but then act as if nothing happens, so for the rest of the series you just want them coupled together already to get it over with.

They made comics, but those are really hard to find. (Not the Marvel version, that one is just weird)
