One thing I learned yesterday during a miserable experiment with flowers and different backgrounds and light was that black looked more black when I had the flower farther away from the background. The only reason I say this is I noticed the upper left hand corner looks more gray and the lower right hand side is black. I was so dissapointed with my results I felt like crying. I looked at them again today and wonder if I will ever take another good picture again.

I totally agree!!!! As a matter of fact - I didn't post all the other shots because I wanted a re-do further away from the background - jeez, great minds DO think alike!!! Pity it took me more time to realize and thankfully, if I didn't, your advice would have pointed me in the right direction - I also didn't like the texture showing.

Sorry to but in here, but, I have noticed alot of stores selling dying flowers lately. Everywhere I usually get flowers, they are all yucky! What the heck is up? Yesterday, I asked the flower lady at Sam's club if she was having problems with her flower suppliers, she said yes! She said she used to get all her flowers in pre-made bunches and plastic sleeves to help protect them and lately they just come in a box, all piled together and she has to seperate them out into the bunches to sell.

I just don't know what the flower industry has come to. This is a crime against flowers. And flower-picture-takers everywhere should stand up and revolt - they're dead as hell, and we're not gonna take it anymore!!!

Thank you, not yet, but I'm taking more shots of it and will go through my backgrounds - there isn't a blue sky to be had this week - took overcast. Thanks for the suggestion!
