Very nice! Did you use a long lense, or did the goose just stay like that when you approached?

the contrast between the feet and the ground is definately wonderful... the orange stands out a lot.

That is such an unusual angle, no wonder it's caught the eye of so many people.

Very beautiful, I love the contrast of the ducks orange feet against the grey rocks and water; and of course, the sharpness^^:

Thanks very much! I decided to work slowly on this one, and I think it paid off.
Thanks for commenting.

I like how you've had the courage to cut out most of the things that make a goose look like a goose, and leaving only the feet the viewer can still tell what it is. I never realised before now the subtle differences that separate goose's feet from duck's. Striking use of colour, too.

Thanks so much. I took this shot mostly with colour and shape in mind, but I also find their feet to be quite comical. Looking at the shot now I get the feeling he was enjoying the view from that rock.
Again, I was able to get very close to this guy. I was sitting beside him for a long time, and we kind of made friends with each other. I guess this one's pretty tame.

It's a shame the reflection of his head wan't more visible, but a photographer can't control the conditions of a Lake.

I couldn't agree more. Those geese seem to stick to one side of the lake, so I couldn't go for that effect by photographing a bird from the other side.
