Description My second sheet of Dragon(s).
Tried to time myself doing the scales due to some feedback on the last one, I tried to do them as fast as I could and not so precise as the ones on the last little fella. They took about 40 mins, dunno if this is good or bad, but heh was fun doing it all the same!

Self criticisms: feet could be bigger, maybe a line of 'light' on the body. Face maybe too overly shaded, maybe I need to go lighter on the pencils! Overall quite happy, and what d'ya know, I added some more colour! *shock horror*

A3 cartridge paper, karisma pencils and black liner pen.

i *do* rock and i shall be doing more yellow *just for you!*

i really like your grey tones on the scales, i think there could be a little *more* shading in the face it looks a little flat. the swirls are great - they do look a little patchy (but you said that was the scan, so I'll let you be!)

I do like your Japanese work, very precise.

Yay more yellow! (but woe betide you if get me liking neon green! *shudders*)

Thank you and I agree with you on the face. I start of with good intentions, making things all delicate with a teeny bit of depth then my crazy hand gets going with the blending pencils. and well, it usually ends like this.

Thank you, that is a big compliment My boss is a master in the art of dragons, she loves them to bits so I was a bit trepidacious handing these in. She did like them though a lot thankfully! *wipes brow*

cheers. Yeah I like red so thought I would stick some firey cloud type things on his bum area (that and I was fed up of trying to get the damn feet right and not look like chicken drum sticks, so thought sod it and covered it with some 'artistic license'. but shhh don't tell anyone! )

I really like the rolls in the red, and the yellow is a really effective complement. I don't think I've seen them done in quite the same way before

Really? Wow, that is a comliment and a half (what are you after then ehh, ehh?)
The rolls look a bit shabby on the scan and a bit patching, but heh ho. I think as well I am liking the yellow too, I do of course blame ms violet grimm for my newly found fondness of yellow what with her and her chickens par excellence.

Me nothing... I like to give encouragement where its due.

I only started to colour things on the PC because of my really crappy scanner, now look at me! That and I accidently killed my coloued pencils...

Heh, Violet rocks and I seriously loved the rooster painting too

"That and I accidently killed my coloued pencils... "

Did you eat them? I use to do that when I was a wee nipper but with rubbers. Especially those scented fun ones you used to get. mmmm tasty!

Btw, that emoticon looks like he is wigglying his back hair?!

Eew, I'm afraid there is a distinct lack of back hair wiggling (and back hair) going on here, thank you very much... No I sandwiched the tin into a portfolio and the leads all got broken. Sorry its not more exciting, I could make something up... About how I was sharpening thrm whilst sketching in the woods, and the fresh wood shavings caught the attention of a rabid beaver. Who viciously set about my persons and had to be fended orf at the expense of my coloured pencils...

I wasn't implying you had vast amounts of back hair (although now you mention.... werewolf! *cough ahem*), just that little guy pretending to be all angelic

Now that IS an original idea for a set of flash - a full sheet of neo-old school rabid pycho beavers with an unnatural fetish for pencil shavings ravishing young men in the wood. It's a winner I tell you!

monkeydeathcult In reply to Scarlet-Hel [2007-02-01 12:33:42 +0000 UTC]

Heh, now that is an interesting idea. I think you should follow up on it really, not sure that 'neo-old school rabid psycho beavers' is giving me the inspired feeling. But maybe I'm wrong and the mists of creativity will spew forth a mighty mighty beaver of doom... And I'm really not hairy... Though I do have a bit of a thing for werewolves... And a beard...

Scarlet-Hel In reply to monkeydeathcult [2007-02-01 22:00:13 +0000 UTC]

Thats ok, I am not sure psycho beavers are really doing it for me either!

"a mighty mighty beaver of doom" I would be careful there, that would be R18 material you are getting into!

It could be, I don't generally go into the X-rated flash but it could be a new direction...
