whee, another commission for of her characters, Maiya and Suzume from her comic . Suzume's hair was a lot of fun for some reason that i cannot properly explain, and apparently i got their personalities right so, hurray! <3art's mine, both characters belong to so no taking. inked w/ a micron, colored in photoshop. faving w/o commenting is boo, not that you people READ THIS.

I like the anatomy of the girl on the right. It's well shaped and shows that you have knowledge of how that all fits together. (Well you'd better XD) Obviously I'm talking about the lower parts, not that I'm obsessed with that, but it seems that lower torsos amateurs (not that you're one, by no means!) mess up a lot. I watch amateurs and experts a like (I still have 269 of 500 devwatches to view!!!) so I notice this stuff. Like you're a very active artist XD
I'd say more, but it says "critique not desired" @_@;; I try to respect that, pardon me if I forget at times. Sometimes I wish DA would use color coding in the comments text since that bit of text tends to fade in, and most don't mind critique.

As long as I've been watching you're work I still can not figure out HOW in the WORLD you do your shading! It's like cell shading but has its own thing to it. I've even experimented with the lasso tool and gradient tool to see if I came close but I = teh failer. *sigh* You're just to good.

i use the freeform pen to shade, try that.

I'm actually a friend of Lokotei and have read the whole story that these two are a part of so I'm particularly thrilled to see them rendered in your style. You did do a great job of capturing their personalities.
I'm always impressed by your art in general, but in particular, I love how much personality you express in every acpect of a character. From the way that they stand, the expression on their faces, right down to the shape and action of their hands. Always impressive. I R jealous.

For another unexplained reason, I like it. Maybe cause it reminds me of me and my sister. She's Suzume, I'm Maiya. She even has shorter straight hair and a more outgoing personality, and I have longer wavy-ish hair that's an unnatural color (purple). HA! Now your title is relevant.

Oooh. I really like the hairshading, and Maiya's nose is incredibly cute to me. At first Suzume looked like she was holding an invisible phone, which would have been really cool. Arm linky is good too, though. Anyways. Awesome~

Well a feminist recently SHARED something with me about character height and its symbolism, but i think it's shit so I'll keep that to myself.
If anything bugged me it's Maiyas right hip, seems either too far in or she has an extended torso. But it doesn't interfere with the composition, I was LOOKING for problems at that point and that's all I got.
Lessee, what do I like though...
Well I'll say this, you're doing a DAMN better job in cell style than I ever did!

But yes, I love this piece, because I can totally relate. This is basically my sister and I. I'm Suzume, and my sister is Maiya. Maiya seems like she'd be kinda quiet, reserved, and not very outgoing (I may be wrong, but that's what I get from the picture), whereas Suzume is a complete extrovert and tries to get her sister to be somewhat more open to the world and willing to live a little.
I REALLY enjoy this piece, and thus I will be favoriting it.
