Requested were her characters Valentin and Louis - from her interactive novel, a project she is leading on her DA.
I was provided description with their specifics and following details:
Valentin is a very calm and shy person. He loves books, reading, studying, long walks at night in town, loneliness. He is very dreamy and has good manners. He is a teacher, and in his spare times he does some researches, he loves libraries and the city.
Louis is a stuck-up aristocrat He is very seductive, has a bad reputation, he does drugs (opium) and alcohol, has many lovers (men & women). But surprisingly, he is very protective of Valentin, one of his only true friends. He loves travels, art, anything that is precious and expensive (he has many paintings, sculptures, in his home).
I was given free hand to portray them as they appeared to me. I picked a hypothetical scene - Valentine on one of his pensive midnight walks and Louis saw him while he took a ride in carriage, decided to hop down and join him. Perhaps he wanted to share a story about his evening escapade, who knows.

Yes, I was trying to follow the color limitation and figured the faces and hair is the most important - so the clothing was thrown into the night mood too - since thats not the most important of the picture I think.

Let me express once again how much I adore this scene ! You completely captured who they are and how they would act. Louis seems so confident and a little teasing, whereas Valentin listens to his story with his usual shyness. He seems to think he is either hearing too much or not enough, or that he is surprised by what he learns !
It really makes me wonder what happens next.
