Wait, was the auroch larger than the gaur? I thought the gaur was larger than any of the bovines of the cattle-related line.

I guess not.It is mentioned as the largest individuals of Aurochs could get to the size of gaur.

The 2 tonnes mentioned for bison latifrons could be the weight for large individuals.

Well, bovids aren´t really that heavy. They are resistant.

Yes; Butch's, Ramsey's, and Nash's Longhorn herd was made up of Long-Horned Bison. The toys sold in stores were labeled "Bisodons"

Is that the Long-horned Bison that appeared as the trexes livestocks in The Good Dinosaur ?

I highly recommend you to watch it. Although the dinosaurs are ridicilously cartoonish and innaccurate.

I'm not having much free time for now. Before few years, a member here told me to watch some animated movie and yet i didn't saw it,so i didn't replied for her comment. XD... Perhaps, when i get free from certain things after some months,i will watch all the pending videos.

Perhaps you thought that all bisons had big horns.

Juliefan21 In reply to SameerPrehistorica [2016-07-11 14:35:44 +0000 UTC]

I understand what you were saying. Maybe next time should be equids (wild horses) as well as cervids (deer and relatives).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SameerPrehistorica In reply to Juliefan21 [2016-07-11 15:51:16 +0000 UTC]

You thought that it was not a bison because it had lean horns ? Well, that is the thing mentioned for that bison being different that it had small lean horns. How many list you really have ?
No chance -- (equids and cervids). It's not like i don't have interest in them but like i was telling you previously couple of times that i have to go away for a while. Now the time is coming somewhat soon. So,possibly in the future i may make them if i ever return. You might see 3 other animal groups for now before i leave.

Right. By the way, I wonder if you could probably update the megafauna image sooner than later.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SameerPrehistorica In reply to Juliefan21 [2016-07-11 17:33:34 +0000 UTC]

Rarely i do that. Previously i use to update it several times just by adding 5 new animals or so but these days i update it by putting bunch of animals at a time like 15 - 20 animals. Perhaps you didn't noted that the numbers have crossed 200. I did updated that image 2 times previously and i didn't notify watchers.I wanted to notify only for the last update before i leave. It should be in the end of this month or next month.  If i have to put images like cervids or equids soon, there is only one choice and that is by uploading partially completed images where i could put some 3 or 4 species of a group and put question marks for the remaining.
