Description Even though I drew Sly and Carm Genderbent in the same picture, I've decided to give them both their own separate images (Because why not?).

god i love your gender bender pictures. gender bending is my favourite thing, but i can only make them more human like than animal like. how do you do it? the face parts mainly. ^^

There are some tricks such as softening or sharpening the curves and lines, making them heavier or lighter. As well as studying differences between genders in the actual species. As well as trying to stay as true to the core design of the character as possible. I've seen a lot of genderbenders that throw large breasts and long hair on male-to-female genderbends or make them buff with shorter hair when when doing a female-to-male. Studying variations in anatomy and understanding how the body can be affected by a certain lifestyle.

For example with my design of Sly genderbent I kept the lithe, but muscular body and didn't give her huge bazoombas because that would get in the way of thieving. Small-to average was better in order to keep in line with the character. Also, a medium-to-short length to her hair would be easier to manage and wouldn't get in her way. I got a bit more experimental with the outfit, but tried to tie it in with his original design by maintaining a consistent colour scheme. Stuff like that

wow, that's a big description but I couldn't agree more. Big breasts and long hair would get in the way for young "ladies" like Sly and Ratchet. (I bent r&c) That's really something. Colour is always good to match, cause why make it out of place, then it just looks bad. Also I just adore how you keep the animal faces. That's the tricky part for me. I good too human and well...I guess just make furries...I guess they'd be called. ^^ But still stay true and don't make it...way out of the ordinary. Poor Sly doesn't need a bad back

With the animal faces it just comes from studying animal facial anatomy as well. Some animals have very expressive faces, but others can be enhanced by using artistic license and understanding of human facial expressions. If you want to explore drawing furries/anthros more then I would recommend this tutorial: tracyjb.deviantart.com/art/Lac… It's a great one for that

Thank you so much If I can give any sort of advice it would be to just do it. If you want to draw a comic make the time and just go for it, because the more you fret over it the more likely you are to hold yourself back because you're "not ready/good enough yet." I'm trying to learn this lesson myself and just more forward with projects. Improvement comes with practice - the part of my life where I can see the clearest improvement was when I was in college and drawing a lot every single day. It kept me on my toes and constantly moving forward.

This was the more updated version, but it was really rough and I'm not happy with it so I probably will do an updated version again in the future.
