M! This is just sooo interesting! Don't know how you did it, but I just love it. Almost feels like it has a mind of it's own and can spread... like a tissue of sorts. Really unique and extremely engaging.

I hope you don't mind... I featured it in my journal. [link] If you'd rather I remove it, just say the word. I'm just trying to spread the inspiration! Thank you-

Whoa, I really really love this, it's the sort of creation I could just sit and stare at for ages. If you let your imagination flow, you can see all sorts of things in this, it's absolutely wonderful

Thanks ... that's what I made the painting for ... kind of an investigation, glad you could see that!

details are overflowing... think u did too much on it... but then its a different composition n cool stuff u made there!! black smokers eh? never heard of it but i think the concept's cool! keep it up!

SalHunter In reply to Meow360 [2005-07-25 18:50:15 +0000 UTC]

Yes perhaps there is too much detail ... but its supposed to be a kind of investigation ... its really up to you what you see ... (Google (or search engine of your choice) Hydrothermal vents and find a whole new alien world!)

Meow360 In reply to SalHunter [2005-07-25 23:49:38 +0000 UTC]

β€œTo the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you.”

That’s Joy Division, from their song Shadowplay. I dunno why but that just popped into my head it somehow seemed apt. The painting is simply beautiful.

Ahhh I still mourn the loss of Ian Curtis ... and I had to sell my record collection a while back ... I have lost my unknown pleasures and closer ... thanks for bringing them back to my mind!

8025glome In reply to SalHunter [2005-07-24 13:20:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah poor disturbed Ian, I wonder whether he decided not to top himself if he would have sung that dumb football song: β€œWorld in Motion”, lol. I have to say that I really love the whole JD thing the pounding drums, booming baselines, schizophrenic noise guitars and the vocal’s that are like honey from heaven that has fallen onto the grey Manchester streets. Although I do find it difficult listening to those two studio albums because they are like a black hole, they suck you into this black void of depression, and places in my mind which I don’t want to go. Those lyrics still boomerang around my mind.

Which all of this has got nothing to you with your lovely painting, which is colorful, light and dreamy.

Yeeeeeah! The worst thing was when I thought:

"Okay, I can see my house. I can see a bus. This is a free software, and open to everyone. What about the stuff that isn't free or open to everyone? They can probably see my shoesize!"
