Description

History:

Outworld, origanly known as earth-22 (according to HIVE surveys) is the first world invaded by the multiversal company and its central base of operations from where they and other Carna civilians can connect to the Webway and the other worlds.

everything started in the wake of a brutal nuclear war between Russia and the United States of America, America was completely destroyed and turned into an acid wastland, while the rest of the world experienced a nuclear winter that caused crop failure, societal collapse, disease and civil war around the globe for decades to come.

Hundreds of years later the remnants of the United Kingdom, Australia and China began to recolonise much of the world, bringing hope to millions of survivors, the three countrys signed a truce between themselves, in the hope that with their combined efforts, the world would be saved.

However, Japan by this time had reverted back to a militarist monarchy, looking to create an empire they began a war with the three new superpowers, with the help of Japanese allys in Indonesia and Vietnam.

The war lasted for four years, but ultimately the big three won and China invaded Japan soon after, although they tried to cover up the abuse and slaughter of Japanese civilians from their allys.

Unfortunately for China the others found out and this caused a rift in the big three’s alliance.

But before they a war could break out HIVE troopers and Demonic mercenaries came out from portals which opened in the old Russian wilderness, sacking and enslaving the surviving inhabitants.

The war between these new invaders and the big three lasted for twenty years, but because HIVE had more high-tech weaponry than any of the worlds inhabitants and with the aid of demonic powers and the Japanese who chose to ally with the newcomers, the company was able to annihilate and enslave the people of Britain, China and Australia.

Australia being the last to resist them was almost completely destroyed, its lands turned into arid deserts and the survivors relocated to Taiwan.

For the next four decades, HIVE forced the worlds inhabitants to build the largest Mega-city known to man, which stretches from Europe to east Asia and further south to India, once completed thousands of Carna citizens were allowed to settle on earth-22 while the original inhabitants were forced to live in slums and “special Zones”.

HIVE colonies sprouted mostly in south America, allowing the company to mine the land for materials and resources, these colony’s became semi-independent states by the end of the millennium.

Japan was allowed to take as many lands as they wanted as long as they paid fealty to the worlds new overlords.

Some remnants of the big three retreated to other parts of the world and continued to harass HIVE resource lines, but HIVE takes no notice as the rebels are merely bugs in their eyes.

The world now:

Because of how time flows differently in different dimensions, earth-22’s invasion lasted for two years to the civilians of Carna and the city’s construction lasted for another three years, the world became an outpost in HIVE’s campaigns, a place to plan and prepare for future universal conquests.

However, because of poor living conditions earth-22 was nicknamed Outworld by Carna inhabitants, this word spread throughout the webway and was eventually adopted by the original inhabitants.

Japan has taken Argentina, Taiwan, parts of Africa, the middle east, south Asia and much of the south pacific (as well as New Zealand), they tend to control their subjects with brute force, creating a cast system which forces many non-Japanese civilians into slavery, its current shogun, lord Antantaru, resides in his palace in Tokyo, having demolished the royal family years ago, Antantaru is a vampire, he has lived for thousands of years, having been infected by Canarian vampires during HIVE’s invasion, he keeps this a secret from the rest of his subjects and only his top advisers are aware of his vampirism, he keeps himself fed on foreign slaves brought in on ships and drained of their blood in secretive facilities underneath the sea of Japan.

South America has been claimed by independent HIVE colony’s, headed by several cloned versions of Tavish Royston, HIVE’s leader and director.

The colony’s bring resources to the mega city, Brazil has been turned into a thousand wide farm and the amazon rain forest has long been chopped down to make way for mines and farmland.

The remaining rebels control some parts of south America, the Caribbean and Africa, although now they act more like bandits and independent colonies than actual rebels and HIVE sometimes sends raids into their terrotrys in order to find “willing subjects” for their experiments.

Some groups still believe in a cause, but they are few and far between and most end un in the clutches of HIVE.

The dead zones make up half the world, areas either too inhospitable for habitation or abandoned by HIVE who focus more on the mega-city and Webway than anywhere else, these zones tend to be inhabited by bandits, tribes, rebels, outlaws, semi-independent settlements and people trying to get away from the big, sprawling mass of the mega-city.

Some parts of the world are controlled by criminal orginizations or pirates who take advantage of the worlds chaos, HIVE has little reason to deal with them as these groups can be useful when looking for cheap mercenaries to use in future campaigns.
