During belated spring cleaning I yesterday lost a whole folder (and I really know what I am doing behind a computer... ) of works in progress during a cpu hick-up, weeks of work of almost finished renders, and a whole bunch of ideas gone There's a few other folders left with some m3doodles luckily
This one is playing with _rotate4d and asurf and there's ducks everywhere it seems!

They are probably on your hard drive still unless you hadn't saved them. CPU probs don't usually affect the hard drive but I know what its like I have one piece that I had just rendered when the system went down and when I got it back up the file and parms had not been saved and 40 odd layers of work gone! Nice ducks though

You're right: CPU-problems shouldn't have that effect! I was in the IT-business for many years as a sysadmin, and this never happened to me before in all those years, something disappearing completely like that. I was moving the folder the moment all went weird, and the whole folder was never to be found again :} Did extensive searches, tried (some really good) recovering software etc, no joy :} Well, we live and learn (to make even more back-ups!). And I can imagine how frustrating it must have been to loose your 40-layer-params!
It is probably a good thing to be careful around ducks :}

I lost an entire drive a few months back - I had a few of the files backed up but most of it kaput when the router scrambled it after I'd made it net-accessible using their stupid utility. My cloud backup hadn't gotten to most of the files yet. It's one of those 'perfect storm of conditions' scenarios...
This one is very bizarre! In a good way. I almost don't know where to look with all the things going on everywhere! CooL!
