Description I photographed this female Red-tailed Hawk last year, as she repeatedly carried nesting material back to the nest. Despite their abundance in North America Red-tailed Hawks remain one of my favorite species of birds.

Beautiful shot! I have a red-tailed hawk that lives in the woods behind my house. I managed to get really close to him without him flying away, and I got a few good pictures of him before he did fly away. Unfortunately, all the pictures were really dirty because my camera sucks. XD Every morning during the weekdays I see him in the same place at the same time. =w=

There was one in my front yard a couple months ago! It had 3 crows dive bombing it and just yelling at it. Clearly the crows think they own my street! I wish I had a sling shot to knock out the crows and let the beautiful red-tailed hawk perch in peace

The bald eagle is the national bird of the USA, the red-tailed hawk is the national bird of canada!

Red-taileds have such a presence about them... I have not seen one up close yet since my move and I miss the resident pair at my old house, but I'm sure I will see some once I get out into the open country around here.
