heh, yeah someone already brought that up. i fixed it in the file but it screws up the render so i'll post another soon. on the flash suppressor though, thats how big it was in the referance image so i pretty much did it to scale...

hello, i am heading a development team for a half life 2 mod called Shadow Horizon and we need a DEDICATED modeler. low poly for now as we desire more guns than detailed guns. our code and planning is very far along. mapping isnt far behind. we lack in modeling and animation. if you would like to hear details or discuss it

Very nice detail for a work in progress! I suppose it's going to be rather difficult to render the details on the handguards and flash suppressors? Also, did you mirror the image? I've never seen an M-4 in a left hand configuration like that. Generally the ejection port and foreward assist are on the right of the weapon and the bolt release is on the left. Good job on the four position stock though! And the 30 round magazine curve is spot on! That's a tough shape to get.

I've never seen the actual fire arm but I'm pretty sure I did make that mistake. When i modeled it i mirrored one of the images (that i found on the Colt website) so i could model them easier. I can fix it with a quick and simple setting. thanks for bringing that up though i would have completely missed it.
as far as the mag goes, I modeled that from the image, I know its a bitch to get a curve absolutely perfect if your just extruding it but thankfuly i was inteligent enough to use a construction curve ^^ I need to grab some photos of the magizines on them so i can see how they fix to the reciver. (I know how they are ejected roughly)
thanks for the sharp eye man, gota go make those changes now

neat! well all i need at the moment is some good referance shots of the mags mainly the feeding end and the catches. if there are any holes or seems anywhere i should know about make sure to get a shot of those. Dude, your a life saver on this stuff. I'm glad your around otherwise people wouldnt be afraid of the detail i put into some of my work (weapons anyway lol) Thanks again!

Nice job. I've had the privelege of firing an M4, and I can say that that looks real enough to pick up.

Just a thought- try making the weapons more distinguished from thier background and shadow.
I dunno, try washing out the background, or give the background a bluish tint to help contrast the gray weapons.
