Description well the time is now 3:26am and I finished the modeling work on a project i started about a week ago, total time put into it is probibly about 12 hours modeling. Its not going to look complete or finished till i get this sucker textured but i doubt seriousely that it will happen tonight. I pretty much stayed up all night just so i could get this done for school. this block class is the Asosiats demo reel class, wich technicaly for me dosnt count but that dosent mean that i'm going to glide threw it.

I should be texturing this some time this week, if not this week then next after I've modeling and rigged another character model. I'm sorta stummped on how i'm going to rig this though because its not organic, wich is pretty much they only thing i HAVE rigged.. oh well what battles may come

Amazing work. That's just so detailed from my experience.

I'm just getting into Maya after buying it a week ago. It's so overwhelming and the tutorials...really don't do the program justice.

thank you for your comments, i'll send you a note to answer them, i don't want to make a really long post on to many of my pieces, distracts from the original description lol

Woo! An excuse to take pictures. I'll get on it! I really thought your model was intended that way, frankly it's an improvement, I've always prefered that indention. Btw, I found your gallery by way of are you working on his project together?

yeah we are working on an art trade together, I'm going to model one of his characters in 3D and he's going to do something for me but we haven't quite hammered that out yet or at least it hasnt be officialy finalized. Glad you came to my gallery ^^ thanks again!

Oooh... great detail. Right down to the extended base plate on the mag and the widened bottom of the trigger guard. You seem to have combined the indented forward trigger guard of the USPC with the full sized slide and extended barrel of the tac? Very handsom model, I'd love to see it with a skin.

Well I was working from three points of reference. I have a full sized Tactical Airsoft gun and 3 photos. Two of the Compact from either side and one photo of the full sized .45 that was a really bad photo. The footplate was on my Airsoft gun and the slide and body of the pistol where of the compacts I worked from I couldn’t find reliable reference on the full sized no matter how long I looked so it’s a tad confused as a pistol I guess.

I plan on skinning it but I don’t know when I’ll ever get around to it, it’s sorta like the kind of plan you make as a new years resolution. You plan on it but it probably wont come to fruition… I’ve seen in your gallery that you own an actual USP, can I ask you to take some detail photos of the pistol that I might be able to use in texturing; or perhaps both sides of the actual firearm so I can make corrections to this one? Nothing beats good reference when making a model like this.

its a good mode, but the render doesnt really do it justice. What do you use to model and/or render?

Maya's software renderer. Its a tad late rite now and I'm not really prepaired to fiddle with it to make it look perfect That will happen after its textured ^_^
