With Music: [link]A silly little pencil drawing I did to go with the remix of 's fanart melody that he created for Two Heroes. I loved the tune so much that I asked if I could remix it and use it as a proper song in Two Heroes for this particular scene.
Amefurikozou is a youkai (Japanese ghost) that appears as a young boy playing in the rain. He wears a strange hat made out of an old paper umbrella, and carries a little paper lantern. When Tsun and Shiori come to a seemingly cursed village that has constant rain but rice that never grows, they catch a glimpse of this elusive character and give chase. It soon becomes apparent that the Amefurikozou just wants someone to dance with him. Tsun and Shiori follow the Amefurikozou's steps and create their own rain dance, which appeases the youkai. As a parting gift, the Amefurikozou teaches Tsun and Shiori the Super Ritual ability Rain Dance, which allows them to create veils of spirit rain to protect themselves from elemental spells.
(Oh yes, and you can see in this picture that Shiori shares his lance with Tsun, seeing as the kitsune just has so much more strength and can cause a lot more damage with it. Also because Tsun has never used a real weapon before and is curious.)

I'm an audio nut and also an animator, I do like having good sound effects...

Hey I wanted to Bounce an idea off of you
I was thinking of a story before the time of the Two Hero's. I call it The Tale of the Two Lances. basically it's a story before Shiori meets Tsun of the conflict between Shiori and his evil brother (my character that I have yet to give a name.) So I will probably make it a comic because I don't have anything to make an animation with. I will wait your approval before I start it...

just a question though, is amefurikozou a ghost because hes lonely or sad or something (like he couldnt pass on because he died some tragic death or something) or is he just a spirit?

I'm not really going to comment on the art, which is great as all your stuff is, but the music. My uncle, an avid musician and music lover, says that a good peice of music can tell you more than any words can. That is what you have done with this piece. To me, the slow bit at the beginning symbolizes the characters talking and getting to know each other, the drums come in when it is obvious what the Amefurikozu wants Tsun and Shiori to do, and when the beat gets heavier and faster is when the dance begins in earnest. the part where what sounds like a violin comes in comes across as the Amefurikozu's joy at finding someone who is not only willing to dance with him, but is also able to keep up. This is an amazing piece, as are all the pictures. if these music pieces are anything to go by, your Two Heroes series will be amazing and seriously DVD or TV worthy.

I just listened to the original, and I have to say, both peices are great, but have a very different feel. I tend to close my eyes and "see" music, which I hope you understand because that is extremely vague, and what I saw while listening to the original was random images that seemed like memories of events taking place on rainy days. the impression of rain comes very strong in both peices. your remix had a much more natural feel and flow, and what I saw while listening to it was ripples on wet ground, in a pattern as if people were actually dancing. I can't remember my dreams very well, and when I do, they are always shadows in shadows, ever shifting, never vivid and clear. I guess I got something else instead. it's why I can't stand rap, hip-hop, hevy metal, or punk rock. the chaotic beats, overprevalance(is that a real word?) of voice, and sheer volume make it impossible for me to get a picture.

I love this! The fact that you're semi-sticking to Two Heroes. Before you stated that you would never make this into a full-fledged project, are you reconsidering? Oh, and is Amefurikozou a bunny like Shiori? Also, shouldn't Tsun be a bit bigger in this picture?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to make Two Heroes a project, since it's gotten lots of requests.
I'm thinking that Shiori shouldn't be too much smaller than Tsun. He's the same size as he's always been. He's standing on his tiptoes in this picture, so he seems a little bit taller.

I think Shiori should be considerably smaller. It would give him the "small stature, big heart" feel.
I kind of got that off of your animation where Tsun was like "Such courage!" and Shiori was like "Such Power!" They should lack some things that the other has (height) so it could be a totally matched friendship.
Sorry if it seems like I"m trying to dictate your ideas. These are just thoughts that came into my mind.

Amefurikozou... Will he be a returning character? From what little we've got, I'm a fan of him already.
For whatever reason, the more simple pieces appeal to me. The somewhat sketchy feel, two-tone color: I'm a sucker for it.

Also, I found a mythological chinese-japanese creature that would turn out really cool in your style, it's called a Chi- or, that's what I read. It's kind of like a wolf-unicorn thing.

Shiori is smaller, but not all that much smaller than Tsun really. I may have drawn him a little taller than usual in this picture, but it's not a problematic size.

just how many parts/episodes/chapters have you got planned for this?
and will the full version of the animation be in colour?

I'll probably just do as many as I can, really. It's the sort of storyline that can go on for as long as I want it to, depending on how many mythological creatures I incorporate into it.
As for the episodes, only a few of them will be full-colour animated. The rest will be in comic/manga form or even written if I run out of time to do it any other way. The most popular or my favorite episodes will end up being animated.

That sounds cool about the storyline length, if you ask me it gives you a lot more freedom with your series
