Yeah, I couldn't think of a decent title... whatever.Alright well some of you saw the older one, through the draw it again meme:
I have to say that this is an improvement that I am proud to showcase.
I added some things and took some things away.
I felt that adding freckles to her would add more character to her, and then taking some things away that I felt looked silly.
I also changed her clothes a little bit, and I still can't believe how slutty I drew back then.
Maybe I was a hentai back then too and just didn't know it! XD
Well overall I think this turned out great and I am very proud of the coloring.
I'm usually never happy with my work, but this one feels like I jumped through a hurdle or two.
Or maybe it is because I can actually see the improvements I made.

I like this kind of anime figures. She is really charming and her anatomy is good. You improved a lot since 2002. You use this style confidently.
However I liked the 2002 clothers better now she has a simple green mini skirt and bra.
I like the shading tone those part where you use strong and not too smooth shades (like her chest and her skirt and her llegs) you do not overdid the shadows so they all have a purpose. These are look good.
The pose is okay her skin and her clothers are okay .
I dont like her hair shade. I think the border of the hair is just perfect but inside the border you just painted it all black and used faster some big smooth brush to make it a little bit red at the downside part.
The black has more option. Use them and her nice black hair will be perfect. I saw your Inuyasha fan art so I know you can do much more better job with the black hair than this e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="
Also check her left eye. It is went too much left. Need to bring a little bit back to the center of the face.

I saw the sakura tree at the background and it is a nice idea but the flowers are too messy. They don't look nice if you try to look at them closer. I think you have to resize a small picture to fit in the background. If I where you I will make the flowers lineart myself and mix it with the oliginal... or just use more blure on the background.

Thank you, I appreciate the honesty. There is still a long road ahead of me and tons of things to learn too, but this really does help.
I love it when someone can be honest with me and let me know what I can work on. This is rare to receive and I will take this critique seriously.
This means a lot to me and now that you mention it, I can see what you're talking about. I will be sure to keep an eye on that in the future. I have already worked on my hair techniques recently, but there is still more to work on.

This is a very nice work you have created! I love the printed look you tried to create it gives a nice tone to the overall image!
You have drawing down pretty well and your anatomy and proportions are well done, so i would say the main place to focus would be to study coloring more. Try to use a wider range of colors for skin, such as pink, purple and peach, other than just the main skin tone color. That is some sounds advice, and I appreciate the fact that you made a critique for me. It means a lot. I will be sure to continue to work on my coloring. I'm checking out tons of tutorials and trying new things and a wide range of colors does help.
It goes out of my comfort zone a little but, but maybe that is what I need. Thank you once more for being honest with me. This will help me out a great dear.

Love the green and the flowers in the background, the green for her outfit.The color chosen goes so well with everything.
the seriousness in her face also shows how determined of a warrior she truly is. I don't recall many warriors having a huge grin on their face, so I definately think the expression chosen was perfect for the pose.
I love how the backgroundreminds me of a painted canvas, I don't know if that was intentional or what but that it just reminds me of it for some reason. All the same love it!

I mean I think you touched on a little of everything.
I did mean for the background to look painted.
I was trying to get an old feeling, eastern feel.
Just a mixture of everything.
I couldn't really decide, so I guess it came out alright!

Although I based this off of an old piece, apparently I had some color coordination back then too... at least a little.

Looking back from what you did way back when of this warrior girl, I must say that I am impressed beyond belief. So much has changed in your style and abilities and I say be PROUD OF YOURSELF!! this is out standing Ruu, and im not only saying that as a friend either.
Her stance is very warrior style, almost like she is such a badass that you wouldnt want to mess with her and her sword, I love it. I really love the flow of her hair and the color change it does to the bangs and slightly to the bottom. Her style and accessories adds to the title of the piece which I think makes it even better. I really love the background!! it adds a nice touch to the fierce -ness of her, and really makes her pop out more I think.

I am going to have to agree with you, my style has really changed into something more. I like the way I draw now. It has my own style to it.
Granted, my older one should be praise too, just for its time, but honestly, this newer one takes the cake! XD
And I did hope she looked mean. I wanted her to be intimidating like how I imagined her all those years ago. It makes me feel good that I could recreate something that a lot of people could enjoy.
