Very nice! She reminds me a lot of Kasumi from Dead or Alive. Just coincidence?

I know, and the funny thing was, I didn't intend it to be at the time.

But did you know the character?

Yes. However, I was at a a restaurant called Urban Taco when I sketched her in a small book. I had no reference. When I transferred it to Bristol board and inked it, I still did not make the connection. I designed her as I thought she should look. It wasn't until I chose the colors that I realized it could have been Kasumi.

Maybe it was subconscious. DOA is one of my favorite games.

thank you very much

As far as poses go, i try to visulaize, as much as I can, the action or scene. then i freeze frame the character. Then I do my best to recreate it from my head.

A large part of the process is first determing where the character is and why they are there. That can also help in determining the right pose

Her outfit is really wonderful! I like how you did the sword that she's holding and her hair is so beautiful and soft as well.

This has been one of my most popular peices. I have tried to replicate the magic...but none of the others ever got as popular. THere is just something about this one....

Now this one is definitely kickass, if you don't mind the expression.

No I do not mind. The crazy thing is that this piece got SO much horrible critism from a freind. Then when I released it out in the art-world it has become the most popular peice I've ever done.

I have no idea why.....

Help me here!

I wish I had an explanation for you since you do much better work than I could ever hope to do. My father hates the type of artwork I do, calling it "stupid" and "childish", and even going as far as saying that if I ever posted any of my stuff on the Internet I was going to get thrown in jail for posting "child porn" (he has been critical of every aspect of my existence for the past twenty-five years).
