I've been an artist my whole life. At the age of 45 I finally got the nerve to pick up oil painting. I fell in love with it and haven't looked back. Five years later I'm featured across the US in galleries and have had numerous solo shows. I am not saying this to brag, but to make a point. Keep pushing yourself, believe in yourself, keep knocking on the doors, and it will happen for you too!

You did a real beautiful job on that. How long did it take you to do?

about an hour on "blocking" in everything. Then a couple of 2-3 hours sessions for the underpainting. Then finished off with two hours for the detailing. BUT ... I stand by my first answer ... it took me all of my years of training to create this piece! grin

The hard thing about the light, is that it's the last thing you add. You have to really visualize the final product long before it's completed. Thanks for your wonderful words and observations!
