Description So, I was watching actor Ewan McGregor in Star Wars Episode III again and I thought to myself, "Gee, I really should finish that digital painting I started of him in May." Here it is! Ewan is my favorite actor and I've done many graphite drawings of him, so I figured it was about time I did a digital portrait. Looks pretty good methinks.

Thanks a bunch! I've seen "The Long Way Round" on TV. Unfortunately I missed the end because the channel playing it kept changing the times they aired the show and didn't tell the viewers they were doing that. What I saw was very entertaining!!

Sweet Ewan, this is amazing!
Great detail on everything! The lips are wonderful, and, as others have said, the facial scrub and the eyes are great. I especially want to say fantastic job on the eyes, because Mr. McGregor's eyes are, as you know, phenomenal, and that greeney-bluey-gray is a very hard shade to get.
Oh, and yes, I also want to compliment you on your true McGregor fandom. ^^ Not only have you added in his moles and not discarded them, but you knew your reference picture was flipped and put them in the right places. I applaud you sincerely for that.

Overall, really a stupendous job. +faving now!

anyhoo, i like the fact that you don't try to cover/hide his moles on his forehead cuz some people aren't very fond of facial "accesories" in the form of moles and scars, and they tend to make them less visible. i think it's cool that you put moles anyway, even if you DO put in in different places, heheh.

and his micro-short beard is SO realistic, i could just imagine myself rubbing his chin and hearing those "screeessh screeessh" sounds. heheh. i used to love doing that to my dad when he's too lazy to shave when i was a kid =T

but anyways, once again, another truly awesome pice. argh. how come you're so good at this? lol.

oh, oh, rhonda! it would be SO awesome if you did a johnny depp portrait as edward scissorhands or sth.
just a suggestion.

Ah, I can't cover up the moles and stuff; they are such great detail and add so much character to his face! I wish I had an even better image where I could see the wrinkles and everything in his face. I love those kinds of details. They're so attractive to me.
The image I worked from is flipped around the wrong way I think, so I tried to place the moles in their accurate positions... I hope, LOL.

Ooooh, are you a Johnny Depp fan? Or just an Edward Scissorhands fan? That's a great movie. I have thought of doing a portrait of Johnny Depp. He's very cool!

oho. i'm not exactly a fan of star wars, but i did watch the newer series of it, tho. i was very amused with yoda tho, he talks in riddles. ^_^

I agree about the great details on the facial lines and stuff. I undoubtedly stink at details like this tho, because I'm afraid I would spoil my picture. I guess I fall into the category that is araid of adding "accesories" of a face because I fear I would mess up and it will look terrible. You, on the other hand, or obviously good at this. I guess it's true that when you're conident or have firm belies in certain things, it show in the work you do. go Rhonda!

on the subject of mr. depp (lmao), im a definite fan of both! (kinda leaning more towards the latter guy, tho )

johnny's an awesomely talented (and not to mention hot) man, but edward scissorhands- now that's a piece of art i'd love to own .
edward is absolute gorgeousness. and in his black costume, dude, he sizzles! ^_^

i hated the ending of the story tho because the winona girl and him didn't reconcile. but cest la vie, nothing happens the way we want it to.
*secretly wishes for her edward to come, in the form of a human, and live together (unlogically) happily ever after*

Welp, in digital painting you can put the accessories on a separate layer so do don’t have to worry about possibly messing up your artwork if you don’t do them right the first time

Gee, and people say I’m weird for the whole Shepard thing, LOL. Just kidding, I think it’s cool that you adore Edward I thought the end was a bummer too, but at least it’s still an awesome movie despite that.

Well, let me know if Edwards ever becomes human and finds you, because that’ll mean I may have a chance with Shepard afterall *sigh* Till then, I’ll continue my countdown to Shepard’s show today (one more hour of waiting), because he’ll be back from vacation today He's been on vacation almost 2 weeks and I've been having withdrawal, LOL. I need my Shep fix!
