I've never had photoshop lessons so figuring out this crap is super hard

if you don't mind, can you tell how color your lineart in photoshop? The way I do it is to erase the background, make the lines their own layer, then attach a layer over them and color that, but I loose fine details in the linework. I am wondering what you do.Thanks

1. Go to the Channels palette on Photoshop
2. Go to "Load Selection"--it looks like a button with a dotted circle on the bottom of the palette.
3. Dotted lines will appear along the drawing. Go to Select > Inverse.
4. New layer (DON'T deselect)
5. Go to Edit > Fill OR the Paint Bucket tool and fill the selection with black.
6. Deselect, your drawing should be on a new layer and you can not color underneath it. To color the lines, Lock Transparent Pixels on the lineart layer (it looks like a checkered square on the top of the layers palette)
Sorry if this isn't 100% accurate; I don't have access to Photoshop at the moment.
