Description Boo! Did I scare you? Long time to see, eh?

I am finally reading for myself now that I'm on vacation! And I'm reading the Graveyard book for the..... third and a half time now. Yaay. I'm also reading the Jungle Book along side it this time, trying to find the similarities... I totally didn't think Ms. Lupescu was Baloo.... but she is! Joy. Still don't know whose Kaa though....

Anyhoo. This is Nobody Owens different ages from the book.
The ages be 1/2-ish, 5, 8, 14, and 16. And then there's Silas who doesn't age.
I'm pretty proud of this one, not only cause I tried to imitate the sheap animated cartoon style, but also I made my own background for once in my life! Yaay.

Alright, that's all, READ THE BOOK, BUY THE BOOK, read the Jungle Book and buy it too.

I notice he gets less cheerful with each age. Makes sense I guess.
Ps. I think the witch-ghost might be Kaa.

I have read The Graveyard Book and found it a fantastic read! The Jungle Book was something that the author recomended. I see that you also recomend it so I'll just tuck that into my....endless list of books I've been recommended -_- It's like a ray, neverending! @_@ But in regards to your drawing; I love it! I especially like the spooky background and the age progresion of Bod. Spify work~

I think of all those who drew TGB characters, you paid the closest attention to the book's descriptions and got them down perfectly.

So wait, is this a character from the Jungle Book, or the Graveyard Book? I ask because I intend to read whichever it is.

is Kaa the Panther? If so, then I think that the Panther would be Silas, I think that the evil tiger (sherkaan?) would be "The man Jack".

Hmm... that's an interesting idea. It never really enteredmy mind that ms. Lupescu could be Baloo, mostly because of how strict she was in the beginning before the Goul Gate incident. But I guess it fits a little.

oh no! I hope they publish it there soon!
That's one thing I don't like about publishers, they take forever to make translations.
Actually, I kinda know how it feels. They published a different version of the graveyard book in England with really really awesome illustrations (better than the American version) and they only sell it in England. I'm trying to get one imported to me over ebay, but so far no luck

I was totally planing on doing this for my brother's Clockshis story. You stole my idea, or maybe it was that bastard Neil Gaiman once again.
Oh well... This looks as awesome as ever AS USUAL!

Don't you know, Neil has psychic spies just like Tim Burton cause he's the NEW Tim Burton.
Just watch! He'll soon come out with a book about a hospital trapped in a time loop with creepy shiz going on and a mute house keeper, and then he'll make a story about a girl who lives in a strange town where strange things happen withe her friend whose half phantom... and... and then he'll make a book about oh I can't say it! Anyhoo.... yes... can't trust no one!
Did you read dis book yet???? Go! Go give Neil money! Read it to your brothas, dey laaav it.

TheBalloonMan In reply to roseandthorn [2009-06-02 03:22:34 +0000 UTC]

Well no, I was hoping you'd let me borrow it... BUT YA DIDN't! did you?
Well anywho I did show them Coraline (just online) they likes it, thought it was creepy but liked it. Don't think they understood it too well.
Ooooooooooooh! I just saw one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long long time. Drag me to Hell. Go see it and DON'T watch it on line! It was too good for that and you won't get the effect from a crappy bootleg. It was writen and directed by Sam Rami and all I can say is he lives again! It's way better than the Grudge, can't even compare them and his next project is remaking Evil Dead (so go give HIM money)!!!

roseandthorn In reply to TheBalloonMan [2009-06-03 20:42:34 +0000 UTC]

That movies actually good???? The previews made it look hilarious! Shoot, I'm gonna have to look into that now. Whose Sam Rami again??? :\

But youmust give Neil Moneeeyz too! Even if he stole our ideas! I'm actually gonna buy the European book too. (import it from ebay) cause it has really awesome illustrations! The brits get more awesome stuff then WE do! I mean the drawings are okay in the American version of the book, but damn.... the Euro version has like...
Lemony Snicket kind of illustrations and they're smexy as heck... hold on let me find a link or something...
[link]
I liked this one the best. It's by this guy called Chris Riddell, he rocks.

Anyhoo, you should buy the book dispite me forgetting to let you borrow it . It's really good, spend a few dollars, spoil yourself with a good piece of literature!!! SPOIL YOURSELF DAMN YOU!!!! )))))))))))))))))))

Damn yourself and watch your mouth!
Jeez-ow that was one scary picture. Looks quite interesting indeed... I was looking for that book yesterday actually in my local supermarket, thy had Coraline, nothing else other than novels for desperate teenage girls. Sam Rami!! Shame on you! I shouldn't have to tell you, you should look it up. All I will tell you is that the movie was pure entertainment. It was funny too but it's been a long time since I've seen a horror movie I felt good after seeing. The reason is that you're not supposed to take it too seriously like all his movies (evil dead you bastard).

Weell.........if fate wasn't so cruel and things had worked differently in the past.........

Michael Jackson. After seeing him in "Ghosts" I think he had some really good raw talent that could've worked into a decent acting career. Yes, I'm a fan; yes, I believe he was set up; No, I don't think he was an addict or a wacko. Just his soft voice and enigmatic persona sort of described what I pictured Silas.

You can mock me now.....
