100 Theme Challenge - Theme #81: Pen and Paper.

As you might have guessed from the theme and title, this is a pen sketch! No pencil, planning, or anything but multicolor ink pens were used in the making of this drawing. I started drawing some eyelashes and went from there

Needless to say this was a lot of fun, and I listened to awesome music on my iPod the whole time <3 There's something about having to improvise with permanent lines that I find really fun. Even if the results aren't as "perfect" as a planned out drawing, I usually feel more creative and spontaneous doing something like this!

I'm not sure if it will make sense to everybody, but the idea behind this is something like music becoming fantastic scenery. In this picture, it's a place where the sky and the sea are the same. We all drift off into imaginary places when we listen to music sometimes, right?

Unfortunately I had a ton of trouble getting this drawing to scan properly! X_x Even now, after having spent hours and hours in Photoshop tweaking color levels, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as it does in person.

There are all these layers of shaded colors that you guys don't get to see. For example, the color I use for shading in the hair, heart-print shirt, and headphones, doesn't even show up. It's supposed to be a sort of purple with a magenta tint to it, but instead it just... isn't there. The dark blue shading on the shirt is actually the same pink that's in the clouds, and it's a shame you can't see it, because I really like the combination of colors there.

There's all these weird shadows in the hair that aren't there in the actual drawing, too (the texture of the paper got a bit wavy from the density of the ink, and I couldn't make it scan right with weights, either)

What gives, scanner?! You're supposed to be full color ;__;

Also, please no critique! I know there are lots of mistakes, but it's a pen drawing

Anyway, everything aside, I hope you like it
