*Bounces excitedly* SHE'S FINALLY DONE. I'm not sure why I'm so excited about her since I had absolutely no plan for her in the first place. XD But I'm happy with the result! <3 This is Valaura, she is my Mirror's Edge character! I haven't played the original game all the way through though, (A friend of mine let me play it recently. ) But I DID watch a play through of the entire game of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. And even though I haven't gotten the FULL experiance, I enjoyed what I saw; the bright atmosphere and the intense building par core... It was pretty awesome. ^~^ But mainly what prompted me to create an RP character out of it was the fact that a friend of mine wanted to RP with me, but I couldn't find something that worked for he and I until now. XD So we decided to do Mirror's Edge, since I had a pretty good grasp on the concept and my friend is a major fan. xD But anyways, I'm trying to go for something a little new again so we'll see how it turns out! Enjoy!

Personality: Valaura is particularly cold to most people, to most men especially. She shut her heart off after the devastating betrayal of her older brother and now does not let many others pass through her emotional walls. She mainly concerns herself with work and tries to stay busy to avoid human interaction and mostly because being a Runner keeps her happy. She is mostly reasonable and logical with most of her problems instead of relying on luck or heart. Although she is harsh and cold on the outside Valaura is pretty sensitive on the inside.

Bio: When Valaura was only a child her older brother Dean and herself were separated from their parents. A riot ensued in the streets and after it cleared not a trace of their parents were found. Valaura doesn't remember this incident, but she remembers Dean telling her many stories about how it happened whenever he was willing to tell her. Dean himself was the one who raised Valaura. But they stayed away from higher ground where someone could discover the two children. Dean raised his younger sister in hiding, and whenever Valaura asked him why they couldn't go outside, he would tell her that the bad men would get them... But he would keep her safe. And for most of Valaura's life, she was content with staying hidden with her brother. She looked up to Dean like she would a superhero for it was always him that kept them safe and brought food back to Valaura when they found any.

However, many years had passed of the two siblings living this way, when they were finally discovered... They were making their way through the underground systems when they ran into a group of Runners. Dean suspected they were part of K-Sec at first glance and attempted to attack them which only resulted in him being beaten and haulted. When the group of runners discovered Valaura and her brother living on their own in such a dangerous place, they couldn't allow them to remain there. The secret group of runners took in the two children and brought them back to their center of operations. Dean regarded the runners with distrust and hatred for ripping him out of his life with his sister which he hated living in hiding, but didn't want to be looked at as a child who couldn't handle himself in this situation. However, Valaura, at her young age was very open to the idea of living with the adults... She loved her brother very much but she felt almost as if they were safe with these runners and the fact that the runners were 'good guys' to her and faught against the bad people she'd heard her brother talk so much about. The ones that killed her parents she never got to meet. She tried to convince her brother that it was a good idea to stay with them, but Dean dismissed the idea and told Valaura they couldn't be trusted and she didn't know what she was talking about because she was too young to understand. Valaura felt conflicted and frustrated with her brother but... He WAS her only family she had left... And she would stay with him regardless if they stayed or went.

One night, when most of the organization had turned in for the night, Dean went to find his sister and woke her up from her sleep to tell her that they were leaving the organization. Valaura tried to reason with Dean that this was a good place for them, but he wouldn't have it and told her that he was leaving tonight with or without her. Valaura, with a heavy heart agreed to leave with her brother that night. They began sneaking out of the organization through the ventilation system; Dean assisting her with reaching up to high places. Once they were free they returned to their life in hiding. Over the time Valaura, though still young, was growing up, and her brother already well into his teen years. But one day when the two were sneaking about some city rooftops, they were discovered by a group of K-Sec. Dean could fight pretty well for his age, but Valaura did not have much experiance actually meeting K-Sec face to face. She was terrified as her brother tried to protect her, but even HE looked terrified... And that was maybe the most terrifying thing for her to see. Valaura screamed and cried as she watched Dean fight for both of their lives but not until she began to get targeted herself by one of the heavily armored men. Her heart closed in horror as she noticed Dean was too preoccupied to notice. But instead of fighting Valaura tried to flee. But she was only quickly cornered against the edge of the high building. If she fell now... She would die. She was crying painfully as she stood on the edge the closer the men got. But when she suddenly lost her unstable footing, she slipped and her eyes widened. For a moment it felt like everything stopped. She was in a free fall. She was sure, that she was going to die in that moment. But suddenly she grunted as she felt another body suddenly collide with her smaller one.... She opened her eyes wide and teary to see that she was in the arms of one of the runners they'd met long ago! They'd swung across the building and grabbed her just in the nick of time. She looked up at them in disbelief as they landed on the other side of the building. But before she could answer any questions, she remembered Dean was still fighting on the roof. She quickly explained this as best she could to the runner who'd rescued her, but her words were jumbled as she sobbed in fear. After that, Valaura was handed over to the other runners to take her back to safety while the others went to check the rooftop to possibly rescue her brother. Valaura waited for hours in the underground... As young as she was, it slowly drove her mad. She was terribly worried about what had happened to her brother... If he was okay... If he was dead... What she would ever do without him... But she snapped back to reality after the runners finally returned with news of her brother. She rushed up to them and looked all around for any sign of Dean... But there wasn't one. They hadn't brought Dean back... They'd only come with the news that he had been taken by the K-Sec.

With no where else to go, Valaura remained with the underground Runner affiliation. They raised her with the ideals the rest of them carried, she lived their way of life, and she discovered the true terribleness of the city. All of which her brother had protected her from for the most part. But through all of her training to become a runner like the people she'd been raised by, she carried one goal. One hope. That her brother was alive and she was going to rescue him someday from the bad people. Eventually, Valaura had become very good at what she did. she was skilled, she learned to fight and she was fierce for she was fighting for a cause of her own. It was that day she was finally able to find Dean that would change how she'd act and behave for a long time. They had invaded a central building full of K-Sec. She was told that this was one of the main buildings of their operations, and she had been tracking her brother down for a long time up to this point. She was a teenager now. She hadn't seen her brother in years... But still, it was her faith that he was still there in need of her that kept her going.

When she maneuvered her way through the building she'd come to a section where it appeared that tall plastic glass walls boxed in other people like prisoners... Some were runners some were. Valaura was sure if her brother was alive that this is where he'd be. She looked for what seemed like forever.. But no sign of him. It was until the doors bursted open and Valaura's presence was revealed to an enclosing group of K-Sec... She glared and immediately turned to fight, but before she even could meet their eyes, one had already pulled a gun on her. The bullet hit her left shoulder... Valaura screamed out in pain as she was shot, her eyes wide and horrified as she dropped to the ground clutching her shoulder. Blood bled over her hand and wound. She slowly looked forwards to meet the eyes of the man who'd shot her...He looked down at her with narrowed emerald eyes. Valaura spat at him and growled curses through her pain. But the man's brows lifted and he looked more intrigued with her but still not amused. He slowly crouched down to her level in front of her knowing she wouldn't try and hurt him because her hand needed to stay over her wound. "Now... Is that any way to talk to me Valaura? After not seeing you in so long? My my, have you grown up... Though your still foolish as you ever were. So you decided to become a runner... How typical." He said glaring down at her. But then Valaura's gaze loosened completely... Her eyes widened in realization... Suddenly, she began trembling. And her eyes watered terribly. Her lips parted to speak... But no words would come. She'd found him. This is what her brother had become... Was he truly one of them now? Softly and hoarsely, she spoke his name... "D-Dean... I've been looking for you for years... You... Are you really part of K-Sec...? But I though you hated them... They took you away..." Valaura tried to explain, though Dean only seemed to be more angry. He scoffed. "Yes. They took me away that day that you and the others weren't able to help me when I needed it.. But that's okay. They told me everything I'll ever need to know about the runners. And what REALLY happened to our parents. It sickens me to think of you as one of those runners... You always did choose them over me, didn't you Valaura? It's too late now. I've chosen my side." He told her. Valaura continued to cry but stared at him wide eyed in disbelief... The person she'd looked up to for so long, loved, cherished, been protected by, now chose these terrible people over his own sister. She gritted her teeth tightly in emotional pain. "H-How could you... I never betrayed you... You were just too afraid to let them help us... I spent all this time just trying to save you, FOR THIS?! This isn't you Dean!" She gasped under the pain, her wound only worsening in agony. Dean narrowed his eyes dangerously. He stood up tall and grimaced kicking Valaura to the side causing her to cry out in pain as Dean aimed his gun at her head. "Your an idiot... It's because of those runners... Its because of you... You don't understand how this world works Valaura and you never will. You are no sister of mine." Dean growled and slowly began to pull the trigger, but luckily one of the runners had shot themself at Dean in time to cause the bullet to hit else where. The team of runners she arrived with rushed into the room at once to assist Valaura. They helped her up and rushed her out of the building. Valaura remembers seeing Dean for the last time that day... Her heart grew cold. She closed off most of her emotional ties. She only wanted to be stronger after seeming so weak in front of her sorry excuse of an elder brother. So she stopped caring for other people. That way she wouldn't get hurt. She could be stronger so that one day... She WOULD see Dean again. When she would put a bullet through his heart.
