Wow... I would love to walk through this place and just be there when it is empty. So nice and beautiful...

Such a beautiful architecture - how did you manage to get this shot without masses of visitors?

Just a lot of patience! Stood there for some time before I had the opportunity to take it 'clean'. There was one guy showed up on the shot (whom I hadn't seen) through the arches on the next floor down but I managed to clone him out! Thank you for this comment and for the others you made! Much appreciated.

What a great picture, Len!
You have captured the light beautifully and therefore created the atmosphere of a fairy tale.
Well done !!!

You're welcome Len,
I've been bussy with all other things than DA :-D
Got a little bit bored with it and there are to many other things that interest me as well. So is just a matter of time management.

This has to be one of my favourite buildings of all time. The outside with the twisting columns, coloured brickwork, statued animals and gargoyles on the roof are fantastic. The inside is just as magnificent as you have demonstrated. You have captured if beautifully with a good balance of light and texture and picked an unusual spot that really shows off the building to the best. Thanks for posting and reminding me that I must visit it again some time.

I thought the same when I looked at the viewfinder but, as Hogwarts was filmed in Alnwick Castle, Northumberland, I didn't make reference to it. Also, I wanted the shot to stand up on it's own and not 'trade' on Harry Potters popularity!

I understand very well ^^ It was just funny to say and the architecture in itself is absolutely gorgeous : )

My first thought was Hogwarts.... I've got to say, though, that the older architecture in England is incredible. I remember visiting various colleges at Cambridge when I lived near St. Ives and being overwhelmed by the architecture.

Same answer as above, I'm afraid! I thought the same when I looked at the viewfinder but, as Hogwarts was filmed in Alnwick Castle, Northumberland, I didn't make reference to it. Also, I wanted the shot to stand up on it's own and not 'trade' on Harry Potters popularity!
