Description Another Conte piece, not much to say except the chair was a complete bugger to draw, the red conte pencil seemed alot softer and there was red dust everywhere and the silly bugger of a pencil kept going blunt which annoyed me no end.

I think I might give the contes a rest after this one...

I think this is an inventive picture.
I saw a lot of picture. Some in color, but never a really gone picture in red color like this.
I donΒ΄t know if I like this picture because of the position but itΒ΄s some kind of cool.

very stark image with the red the chair does look like it was the hardest to draw. very good figure drawing though and a great eye for attention to detail, like the hair and those little things coming from the dress. it looks quite design-like in appearance and with only red on white does it make a strong image. good render

great pose, good representation of light/shadow! wonderful!
one of the best pieces in the category of 'quick sketch' i ever saw. is simply more than that.

critique (imho, and very muted): she appears to be tooo lank, nearly anaemic. the bosom seems to be just a tick upstairs ...

you know I think you're right the ref shows the legs to be a bit thicker than that, hmm I might go back to this in the future and fix that . Oh the boobs are correct though

Though not very complicated in structure, this is really emotive... Was she left by someone...? And now is crying though she doesn't want to...?

A suggestion: you could clean the unused parts of paper - if not normally with a rubber, then after scanning the picture - I'm sure it would look more aesthetically.

Oh, and BTW - these legs are REALLY nice.

Interesting piece. I like the pose and stuff. The anatomy is spot on. I am just not sure if this is the cross between the shadow and full body art. You have details and shadows on some places and on some places where one would expect them they are not there, hence it makes me unsure about the light source. Sorry about not so great comment not having good day.

Thanks for the comment , The thing with the particular colour of conte was that the bloody thing was so damned soft and it was impossible to get all the detail I wanted into it and it resulted in using some artistic licence to do certain areas.

it would be a shame if you did, no doubt there a pain (not knowing what a conte is..guessing a type of colour pencil) but the result is truely amazing. I like the effect for the legs (tights?). Youve just got to start doing how to's now lol I love the hair effect aswell *clenched fists shaking at the monitor

thanks for the praise, yeah Im gonna give it a bit of a rest I think Im doing alot of sketching at the moment need to brush up my skills as Im gonna start doing some big paintings soon. Contes are pastel in pencil form.

As for how to .. ummm I dunno lol never thought of it, I can make a tutorial but it would be a a 'how not to' tutorial lol
