Description What can I say really, I love Yae from the Ganbare Goemon series (Mystical Ninja starring Goemon). In this case I've based her on her latest incarnation from the DS game and put her in the traditional ninjutsu chanting pose (possibly her Ningyo Henshin). I admit you rarely do see Yae chanting a ninjutsu spell in the games but I wanted to do something a little different from the usual Yae pictures. This I hope is going to be the start of a whole series of pictures dedicated to my favorite little Kunoichi.

This was also my first attempt at colouring with Photoshop. I decided to try something simple but as I worked on it I couldn't help add bits and pieces. Even now I'm still unhappy with the composition, and I'll probably try to edit it later. Still I've learnt a lot from photoshop, my next piece will be even better. I hope you guys like it ^_^.

For a first coloring attempt, this isn't bad at all! Far better than my early dabblings in digital... I love seeing her drawn in her ds outfit, I think it's a lot cuter than the other outfit that she wears in the majority of the games (the one with the pants, like in the US released N64 games)

I know what you mean about the DS outfit. I personally want to use it a lot more in my art, but right now I'm getting used to working with her basic design for my recent set of works, as it does show her movement and poses quite well. I'm sure once I get more confident with her design I'll experiment a bit more with this style.

WOW! I love this picture of Yae~ She's my favourite character ever, and I believe you did her a whole lot of justice with this, especially it being your first time using Photoshop to colour.

Sorry about that, I'm still getting used to Deviantart. I've got my new inspiration for my latest pic by the way, and I've started work straight away.

Oh wow! It's really nice to see someone who puts a lot of thought into their Ganbare Goemon fan work! I like how you put thought into your Yae picture~ ^o^ I used to put a lot of thought in each and every one of my Ganbare Goemon works, and this picture reminds me of how I was! You really sounded like how I was in the Artist's Comments. Ah, memories~! (Unfortunately, I don't draw much anymore. Nor do I have the mood to anymore~! Ah! >_< )

You did a great job on this, especially when considering that this is your first attempt at using Photoshop to color your picture! Keep up the great work, and you will improve! ^^
