Description Stupid Jack Horner, thinking that Spinosaurus was a 50-foot long super-predator while the Tyrannosaurus was a scavenger.

"The only way the T-Rex could have bitten this bone here is if the animal was torn to peices. Therefore, another animal must have killed it."

I'm sorry but i also think he was a scavenger because : T-Rex was a scavenger the legs were too heavy for the run and he had small eyes so he could see good, but he had a good nose he could smell dead animal! his nose is more evolved than a dog! and he has too tiny arms to use them and he was really clumpy. He needed a strong and healthy teeth to eat that dead old rotting meat. And yeah I know some panteologists are saying that the t-rex was fast. But think logic look at his thick heavy legs you really think he can run ? The most part of the light weight there, his legs. I'm not trying to be rude but i think it was mostly scavenged but If he has the chance then he would hunt.

Wow Jack Horner must be the world's worst paleontologist.

He has even claimed that Anatotitan is another Edmontosaurus. Just look at the skulls of both genera and you could see how different they are.

um spinosaurus was 50ft
but i do agree, i think he was just trying to show that t-rex isn't or shouldn't be the star of every dino movie ...
but doing that really riuned spinosaurus' reputation i guess
they're both super awsome predators, and i think people should start seeing it that way

I think Stygimoloch is most likely it's own species. Because why would pachys grow to loose spikes when it could grow bigger ones? But the Torosaurus thing makes sense.

Jack Horner needs to shut the hell up on what he DOENT know and start talking about what he DOES know.

He's a good Paleontologist, but he seriously needs to shut up on T. Rex.

super late post

actually a spinosaur is a 60 foot long dinosaur.

trex was NOT a scavenger though -.-
i love them both.

I agree with you here and in many other of Horners ideas. He never seems to prove anything to me, he seems to net pick a lot. Often refering to the same thing multiple times, if you ask me I don't think he believes his own theories, I think he got swept up in the fame and is trying to keep it by putting down theories like this and the feather stuff (though a lot of people are behind that).

kelvinzhang87 [2009-12-16 14:18:00 +0000 UTC]

There are more than enough evidences to prove that T-Rexes were predators and scavengers. The recovery in the tail bone of the Edmontosaur from Montana which bears the tooth mark of a T-Rex indicates that the prey was alive before and after the attack. So this is good evidence of predatory behaviour. Hence what Jack Horner proposed is incorrect.

Ain't no way T-rex was a scavenger! If it had powerful jaws and a well built body, why would it need those to scavenge?

Chomp his head off, T-rex! Show him you're no scavenger!

I'm starting to think that the Tyrannosaurus Rex "Scavenger/Predator" debate is either a cover-up or an obvious product of Jack Horner's hatred towards the Rex. Yea, personally, I believe the civilian Horner has a vendetta towards the king. Why does he hate it so much?

Jack Horner is a hadrosaur specialist. And since T.rex's favourite food is hadrosaurs, you can see why Horner hates T.Rex so much

"This eighth grader here says that what you're saying is near impossible unless the rex was young, old or weak." "who the hell cares about waht some kid sya?! I'm the dino expert." "Yeha well, she says that you're an ass because to fail to look at the muscle structure and actual fact." "Muscles? Fact??? I AM the dino GOD! Ruler of all dino facts!" "Uhh... she says shut up. She also said that REx had way more muscle and bite strength than spino. Oh, and she also said that you failed biology and every other science class along with common sense if you think you're right." ".... WAAAA!!! Mommy! She being mean to me!!!" o_O
Yes that's what I think of Mr. Horner. XD

Really?! So the only kind of food it can eat is only fish right? It couldn't have the jaw power to crush any other dinosaur, would it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RexT-Rex In reply to stegosaur3 [2007-10-07 16:10:04 +0000 UTC]

No, not really. Perhapse it could take out a small dinosaur, but fish would be it's main food. Which makes sense seeing as how it's realatives were fishers. I'm going to be releasing a new deviation soon that compares Jack Horners scavenger theory to this scinerio: 5,000+ years from now some one discoveries the fossil of an Aligator. there are no Aligators or similar reptiles in this time nor have their been for a long time (for some odd unexplaned reason). There are no records of Aligators being aquatic hunters. What would they speculate Aligator was?
Yes, that's the Deviation and will be up on my page soon, hopefully.

It's not the Scavanger/Predator that gets to me, anymore. Though I will admit when I first heard it I thought he was full of himself given that I had grown up with the idea that TYRANNOSAURUS WUZ A PREDATOR RAWR.

Now he bothers the hell out of me because he holds the belief that he's some sort of dinosaur god.

*shrugs*

Good pic, though.

Sure, the T-Rex is a scavenger while the Spinosaurus is a super predator (sarcasam). Did this guy pay any attention in biology class? Bet you he flunked it or got D's.

Which would make him really stupid.
