Description
That was rather simple.I`ve suddenly found a very old unfinished drawing. And I`ve decided to test new hair rendering technique, so here is the final version.

The shading on this piece is amazing. It actually plays tricks on my eyes and makes me think I'm looking at a real, 3D Applebloom. Fantastic work

I must ask, what kind of computer do you use? I recently got a new computer, Win7 64bit, 8GB RAM, GeForce GTX 670, and it's still lagging when I try to navigate through the SVG.

It`s OK, I have Ci5 2500/8Gb RAM (video card does not matter), and it`s always lagging very bad when I work with big amount of blurred objects/path effects. I usually zoom out when I quickly need to see the result, or I can use simplified display mode/turning off visibility of some layers.
Maybe perfomance of Inkscape will be improved in ver 0.49
