Debuted my BlackRose cosplay at Youmacon 2011.I've been so excited to wear her since I've been working my ass off on this for quite awhile.
*Body paint was done by my amazingly talented friends Ariel and Sally
*My face make-up was also done by Sally
*My dad and I made my sword together
*Tights painted by my roomie, Sam
Rest of the cosplay made completely by me

I started with this wire mesh stuff that I wrapped around my arm and paper mache'd that. Then, like most of my armor, it was a combination of paper mache and paper clay

thank you! I actually started legit tanning for it and it grew on me so much I think I'm going to keep doing it for good. (although I will probably start relying a lot more on decent bronzers than tanning beds sometime soon
)

I'm too fair to do tanning beds; any kind of UV's will roast me XD And I think I'd look weird with a tan. But it works for you

I love the job of the body markings
How long did it take to get all that done?
And which way round is it, all bodypaint or just the markings?

The body paint is just the markings, for my color I just tanned and used bronzer. It took us about 2 hours to do just the markings, then we had to do my face make-up and put my costume on which probably took another 30 minutes to an hour.

But anyway, you did a fantastic job on your cosplay! I absolutely loved it. The detail to your costume was just awesome.
