funnily enough, the thing I'm waiting most for is a Robot Chicken sketch that is basically exactly this kind of thing.

actualy when i saw the movie i found interesting that they began touching the guys like they were some freaks while in Smurfette and SmurflilyΒ΄s first encounter all them were like "hey! lets took the girl with us! , sheΒ΄ll be our new friend...and those boys can come too" like they were more atracted to Smurfette and very little interested in the male smurfs

With the way you're doing Smurfs and how a lot of the 80s materials are coming back, I wonder if there's goign to be Care Bears.Β hehhehe.Β

Maybe, it might happen if there was enough interest.
the companies that were originally involved with Care bears
became part of the current companies, DHX, Corus, and Lionsgate.
and the copyright seems to be currently held by Mill Creek Entertainment
which has shared older cartoons and video with various broadcasting and distribution companies.
most recently Carebears was licensed for broadcast to Disney [USA] and Teletoon [Canada]

Ah, okay.Β
Still, I think it'd be cute if Rinacat did some Care Bears artwork, but that's something more relegated to commissions and I'm pretty sure they're not open.Β -___-

oohhhh,
I thought you were talking about them making a rebooted series or a new movie
I didn't think you were talking about Rina doing carebears
as she was inspired to draw smurfs after watching the new movies.

Well, I made the connection mainly because the Smurfs were around at the same time as the Care Bears.Β
And as asinine, trite, wholesome and stomach churning for a cynic as it might be, the show did have a lovely message.Β The ideas of togetherness, inclusiveness, love and so on.Β Kind of makes me think of a very sad line from "Hearts in Atlantis" where one thinks back to their childhood and you have moments of such happiness that you think you're somewhere magical.Β And then we grow up, and our hearts break in two.Β Which is probably why nostalgia is such a huge aspect these days because we want to recapture that.Β

Ah, if you're discussing the chances of them bringing back the Care Bears in a rebooted TV show, they did actually, several years ago.
Look up "Adventures in Care-A-Lot". The bears were given way more top-heavy designs than before (I can't comment on much of the actual show as I never got around to watching it), and it ran only for 2007-08.
...the one I'd really love to see get a decent reboot would be the Get-Along Gang. Or Disney's Gummi Bears.
(I'd also love the original Gummi Bears to get an official DVD release, then I'd ditch the homemade set I bought online xD)

I'm with you on an official DVD release.Β You'd think that they would.Β But Disney is so damn greedy and cheap at the same time.Β

Hehe, yeah that's true. If they're sure it'd make millions in sales, they'd release it in a heartbeat. Otherwise, they just aren't bothered about releasing anything for nostalgia value. >_>

Well they need all of the time for the plot and just let Smurfette warm them about Gargamel
