Whoa. Lots of good things going on here. The swath of blue, for sure, but the wordage and the tree-like suggestion at left...suggests a universe that's a bit topsy-turvy. So while calming on the surface, underneath...well, maybe not so much. The shapes have such interesting relationships. A super-engaging piece. Bravo!

Thanks for taking that close look. I love working with those little details, and I love it more when people notice and get something from it!

That's why I'm so slow in responding sometimes. I just can't do "fast." Which is probably why I am such a failure at Facebooking....

Oh Facebook - I am hardly even trying. Between B. and me both we usually don't miss something from one of the kids. Other than that...
btw, I should know this but did you see Mark Wade's music for "A Train Whose Name is Trouble" at youtube? Forgive me if you did, I just don't remember talking to you about it.

Oh my goodness! How did THAT happen? Were you aware? THIS IS FABULOUS! About time the music caught up with your words. BLISS! "C'mon, let's go...."!

Definitely crisping! What a treat! I am feeling such happiness at the extraordinary connectedess that the internet provides. Such a fine contrast to the woes of the world. I hope to see more musical accompaniment to your words in the near future. You really do have the beat embedded.

You're right about that contrast between connectedness and human woes, I've felt that ever since I became active here. And it is a beautiful thing!
And thanks! Me too. Yes, I try to work the music right down into the words - musicians and non-musicians too tell me they can "hear" music when they read them.

I didn't know you and Mark didn't know each other - though I do realize that not all my friends are each other's friends! He is a fine photographer and a really good guy.

Excellent. And the comments about facebook are spot on, it's " Much ado about nothing." Very much like most cell phone conversations. Blather, blather, blather.

Right - enormous amounts of data, little true information, let alone wisdom.
And facebook, oh dear. I have to look because my kids are there and many friends too, but... it drives me crazy.

Some dA people are there much more than here now - Crina for example... but the photo display is so poor compared to here, you have to go to her blog anyway to see the work as it deserves. And it isn't at all easy to follow the daily flood of posts. I look at it once or twice a day, not all the time like some users...

Well, my primary reason for being here is art. It is definitely not the purpose of FB...
Yes, keeping up with the deviations here is far better that anywhere else I have tried.

RichardLeach In reply to djailledie [2011-12-06 16:11:44 +0000 UTC]
Right. And it's interesting, this is an art-focused site but one can meet new people and make friends here, through the shared artistic interest. I don't think anyone ever makes a new friend at FB - it's just for keeping up with people you meet elsewhere. FB has no content except people themselves - but it doesn't bring people together as well as dA does.

I can speak of only one side - the dA one - but indeed, I can share some things with people here who used to be complete strangers.
